In all my years of sewing I never thought to reverse the seam width on a curved french seam. Thank you!!!...Good job Arthur :)

I didn't quite understand the French Seam tip ... that penny will drop someday, no doubt. Thank you so much for the tip about making a wider bias tape. They can always be trimmed, can't they, but so hard to work with if narrow. :-)

Thank you for all the tips on making this pattern. Your garments all look great on you. Barbara I am too working on my style and rethinking fabrics I have purchased. Still love the fabric just not what I want to wear now. Anyway love what you all have done. And yes Arthur did a wonderful job, I could hear his direction during the filming and it all sounded very professional. 😀

Thanks for the tip about curved French seams. Although I use French seams fairly often, it's easy to forget those finer details. I used a faux(?) flat-felled seam on my Kalle dress and it is holding up very well but it definitely took extra time.

Thanks for the wonderful video. I’m going to watch it again as I might have missed some of the tips and I’m wondering what the fabrics were. I couldn’t agree more about boob pockets!

I love all your Kalles. I have made this twice so far and really like it. I did find that the online sew-a-long instructions were much much better than the pattern instructions. Especially for the burrito yoke and sleeve cuffs. Thanks for the tips!

I love your loud green fabric choice Louise! and that brooch matches your colour choice perfectly, where is it from ,sorry I didn't catch it (must be something wrong with my hearing) love watching your plans and makes

Hi Sarah, Louise here thank you for watching. The fabric was from my stash and the brooch is from a company called wolf and moon hope that helps

Looking good ladies, I made this at Ray Stitch in a class and loved the sew. Cropped version and front/back same length and bias bound hem. Great tip about French seams on sleeve, will give it a go. Thanks Lisa. 😊

I’m making my 2nd Kalle right now but struggled both times with the “burrito” yoke instructions and had to KZbin it. Still got the arms, hem and buttons to do. But may try just hemming the sleeves as it looks great.
@lisahurst85655 жыл бұрын
I found the burrito yoke pattern instructions to be very confusing. The Closet Case website's instructions under sew-a-longs are way better.

Love, love your sews. Lisa hope you feeling better, your top looked like it had darts in it where as the other girls and the pattern from memory does not.. did you add them? Or was my eyes playing tricks.. Barbara that dress/fabric does suit you..
@addiekl5 жыл бұрын
Lisa said she did a full bust adjustment so that's how she got the darts. You are correct that the original Kalle does not have darts.

Hey Ladies, thank you so much for the awesome video, I could give 10 thumbs up 😊 I wonder if you would think the Kalle Shirt (Dress) could be made out of a flannel? I have one in my stash that I desperately want to turn into a shirtdress very soon but I am sooo not sure what pattern to take. Please help!
@patternpals29995 жыл бұрын
I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a flannel for it! There's loads of versions of it if you search the #kalleshirtdress hashtag on Instagram, that might help you make up your mind. Lisa 😊
