So interesting that you had not see samples made up. I've seen that in just about 90% of the fabric stores I've been in here in the US. This would include clothing, home decor (chairs, sofas, pillows, bedding, gorgeous window treatments, etc.), as well as quilts in quilt fabric shops, etc. It is such a wonderful inspiration, and is especially helpful to people who are new to sewing, fabrics and design possibilities.

Hi Stitch Sisters there is a wonderful market called Church Street Market off the Edgware Road where there is two fabulous strolls that sale good quality fabric at a reasonable price. Check it out when you come down to London again.. one stroll is at the beginning of the market that sale loads of libery fabric and alot os italian fabric straight from italy the real deal and the top end of the market is alot of wholesale fabric from canvas to silks jersy cotton linen you name it they have it and when it is gone its gone 😊😊

I was excited to see you came to Islington. I grew up right by Ray Stitch. Back in the 70s it was our local Bakers shop and my mum worked there for years. Ray stitch is a lovely shop and felt very proud you were there. Funnily enough though, I buy nearly all my fabrics in John Lewis. They have far less fabric than they used to years ago. Great video.

Love the videos, there are some good fabric shops on City Rd in Cardiff which are worth a visit and a nice day out as it is not too far from Bristol.

Terri-Ann Woodward I popped in to Butterfly fabrics today...cute little store (I understand they've just downsized) and lovely staff, didn't rush me or the other customer despite it being closing time.

oh no we haven't been there - does it have a good selection of fabric shops ?

There are quite a few and every time I go there is a new one. The Cloth House has a shop there, also Misan shops. There are a couple of silk shops that sell THE most exquisite fabrics. All a bit pricey but well worth a drool :-)

Have you been to brick lane market in the East end? I miss the fabric markets, Trade unions and health and safety killed our industries so we just don't have the sewing culture. We were trained at a YTS scheme at 16 to sew. We made sheets and pillowcases for the old folks homes and council boiler suits. Stuffed bunnies to sell which gave a small return to the scheme. Factories didn't complain in those days that we got £25 a week for our training as if we were competition. We need to STOP buying from third world countries and get our mills back to Glasgow and to Manchester.

High Street shops have huge overheads to pay so that is reflected in their prices. Online sellers can perate from their back bedroom or their garage so they can afford to pass goods on at a cheaper price.

I really love fabrics. I found somewhere new. i was so upset when i learnt that place is not located in UK. I want to tell you guys if you get some fabrics from @neslishine or @pastelahomecafe I want to get that fabrics. Please let me know if you have neslishine's fabics.

I have to say the fabrics are pricey but they are paying London rates. I think its unfair to compare them with online who have zero overheads on running costs. It's good that you called out the quality though as i feel that some are a bit expensive.

I only live about 20 min from there, and its not somewhere I would go to really tacky shops.
