I know there are multiple ways of doing things as you said in a previous comment, but wouldn't it be far easier to just snap to the center points. If the selection tool doesn't snap natively, turn on your rulers and they should snap. Then your selector can snap to that.

Yes, you could do it that way Jon C, but it also depends on how well it works on your image. Marking out the sections can make it easier to visualize the effect. Cheers David

The method with a grid seems too complicated for me. I used Crop tool, then I took the image dimensions from the Crop toolbar, divided by two (both for length and height), then I added guidelines from Ruler. The guidelines showed in the small labels the number of pixels from the left side and the top side, respectively.
