The linen set! 😍 🤩 And the dress turned out so cute. Hallelujah to zipper feet! They really are a game changer. I may have drooled a bit over that cord management system. In my heaven, everything is cordless and never needs charging, but that is the next best thing!

I have thought on many (many!) occasions about how nice it would be to live in a totally cordless world! Can't tell you how many times I trip over cords and yank things off tables with my feet! The invisible zipper foot has seriously reduced my zipper stress, too!

I really like watching you work. I’m not sure what sets you apart from other KZbinrs in that regard (I watch a lot of KZbin) but your videos both inspire and calm me. Truly an ideal combination. I really have to get one of those tables! I’m tall, so having a table that is almost infinitely adjustable would be so wonderful. And, speaking of being tall, I have that same trauma about pants being too short. When I was a kid, it seemed like every single time I put on a pair of pants that fit a few days before were suddenly too short! My freshman year of high school, I went from 5’3” in September to 5’7” in June. And, I grew another 2 inches before I finally stopped. Anyway, I’m off to buy some linen. 😉

Such a satisfying set of successes! The linen pants are a triumph. They're so difficult to get properly fit and finished, IMHO. I'm so impressed. The dress came out looking beautiful. No evidence of weeping, anywhere. All the pieces of a cohesive wardrobe are coming together like clockwork. An idea for your thrifted treasures: I've taken to hemming chinos and jeans cutoffs with a wide bias tape salvaged from the pants leg (about 1" wide, plus seam allowances.) That way I don't have to worry if the tapered side seams will open wide enough to fold back flat. The bias also gives a nice edge finish.

This was the first time I've seen your youtube video. I sincerely enjoyed it!. Thank you. I'm 74 and have sewed most of my life until about 2019 and the big life interruption. About a year ago I made myself a blouse and realized I was no longer a size 10 after the blouse was finished. I donated it to charity and have the bug to sew again when I saw your video. However, I need to declutter and organize my sewing room. The table you showed looks like a game changer for me. I have to check that out further. I just finished hemming 2 pairs my grandson's suit pants for his new job after graduating from college. It took me 2 or 3 hours. I've never needed that much time to hem pants and can only guess it's been too long since the last time I hemmed mens pants. They turned out well is the only plus. Any tips to tackle a new sewing project since I've been 3 years since sewing anything complicated? Ignore that if you don't have time to comment. I see you have plenty of videos I can start with. The pants and dress are beautiful!

Carol, welcome back to the world of sewing! My advice to you is to limit the “new” skill (or it’s been so long, it might as well be new) to one per pattern. Or, if you’re fairly confident, two. Then practice the skill on some extra fabric. Sometimes just doing it a few times is enough to kick our brains back into gear! Have fun!

Gorgeous linen, and oh, that dress! It’s adorable. 💕 Why don’t machines come with an invisible zipper foot anymore? When I enquired of my dealer about a 9MM foot for my Elna, they told me anything could be done with the regular zipper foot. NO. My Stellaire also didn’t come with one. Piping feet are the same…

It gets hung up/snags fabric and thread constantly when I am sewing (which drives me crazy), so I end up disengaging it. I don't feel like it's as useful for lighter duty sewing projects, but when I am sewing jeans or heavier fabrics, I will use it much more and find it helpful.

Hi Casey. I was wondering your honest opinion on the Lutterloh system. Do you feel it is worth the cost? Is the learning curve frustrating?
@PatternScout
@PatternScout Жыл бұрын
I really do love the kit (working on a video right now using another one of the patterns)! I don't love every single pattern in the starter kit, but there are over 200 patterns in there and I would say I've picked at least 30 that I like, so it is still economical when compared to buying one-off patterns. And it's just fun to use, easy to learn, very quick pattern drafting. I originally purchased it to show on the channel for an honest review, and I find myself going back to it quite a lot! It surpassed my expectations (and I have no affiliate links or sponsorships for Lutterloh, so I get nothing for saying that, haha). Hope that is helpful! :)
