The Only Up clip wasn’t on purpose, the game is hardcoded in that specific spot to restrict your horizontal movement when you fall there so that you cannot recover. You can shift your position just enough to miss any particular landing spot

7:47 In short, the way the Backwards Long Jump (BLJ) works is this: Performing a long jump will multiply your speed by 1.5x for a split second, before it goes back down. There's a speed cap for going forwards, but they accidentally forgot to put a cap for going backwards (in the original version; certain ports have patched this). So if you turn it around so that you're going backwards, then go up a slope or on a platform that's moving upward, you'll land on the ground again before it drops the speed (because the ground has come up to meet you). This allows you to do another long jump immediately, compounding the speed boost exponentially. It's able to clip through the door because, for every frame of movement (or "step"), the game only checks _at_ each quarter of the step (or "quarter-step") for collisions. So if you're going fast enough, there becomes enough space between quarter-steps that it never actually detects the door, allowing you to bypass it entirely.

My favorite moment with devs is when my friend who streams Phasmophobia to an audience of maybe 20 had CJ come in and actually got him to add something to the game. If you know the funny Ouija Board questions, my friend got CJ to add "how are you?"

12:12 speed running the game is done mainly in the Japanese version because of slight time saves that add up over the run as I understand it

Yep. That is usually the biggest reason why certain games are played in different languages other than English. In languages like Japanese, it usually involves the fact that there is either less characters or they print out faster in textboxes, whilst with certain other games the dub may just have lines spoken and delivered faster than in English. Especially on longer games, those few seconds playing in different language over English really add up and can save minutes over the run.

Hey Pat if you ever read this I would recommend playing Roblox, it's almost by definition a mixed bag the size of the Pacific Ocean but there are some quality games (I mean experiences COUGH COUGH, lawsuit stuff don’t mind it COUGH) I would recommend having some friends to play with you and atleast 1 person that‘s been a long-time Roblox player. Also I would recommend watching People Make Games’ videos on Roblox so you know the dark underbelly of the game and really understand why it's a mixed bag. Alright bue and good morning or night

Out of curiosity, why the double upload? I did watch and liked both videos yesterday, but in most cases an fast double upload is not an good idea from what i heard. There are exeptions of course
