Actually, the only backstories Luffy knows about are Hancock's and Law's to a lesser extent. He slept during Jimbei's whole island flashback and either refused to listen to others, wasn't there for those tales, or in some cases, only we are the extra people privy to certain backstories or aspects of certain backstories.

If you're curious about the reality of Shanks' arm: Oda didn't originally intend to have him lose it. He only decided to do it after his editor told him the story wasn't interesting enough.

You destroy the fruit inside a confined space made of sea prism stone... leaving only the object you want to imbue the powers with... then the fruit unable to escape the confinement to look for a new fruit ends up going inside the object instead... which is how the raccoon fruit ended up getting inside the kettle in wano... wano being so abundant in sea prism stone...

I didn't feel like going through the comments to see if it was pointed out but the Pell not dying because of 9/11 is just misconception that is spread around. As far as i recall there was no notable connection that remotely points to that being why Pell survived. It was simply Oda not wanting to finish the arc on a sad note. It was early one piece after all

Nami is not strongest fighter, but in terms, character writing she is the the strongest, it's because she acknowledges her weaknesses and shortcomings makes her strong, and when she ask Luffy and her nakama for help, that was one of the best moment of One Piece. She will forever remain my favorite character in One Piece.

I just watched this now... It's funny seeing his reaction with shanks loosing an arm because it's true, shanks is one of the strongest characters out there and he could've saved luffy without sacrificing his arm but damn this was a massive flex... Shanks not only lost an arm but his dominant arm at that but even after loosing that said dominant arm, he then became an emperor of the sea that can box with whitebeard and kaido only using his non dominant arm

44:45 The issue with the dub is actors can do amazing shit like this, and then do things like Robins dub scream when she was falling in Dressrosa. To be fair I think that was when the dub started going lightning pace recording to catch up with the sub as quickly as possible, but that dosent mean they couldn’t have done a retake. Also the I want to live recording was like 10 years before this so her voice has definitely changed but even still, hasn’t really been a problem for the Japanese va’s who have been doing it for twice as long
