THING I NOTICED! Cheren's Lillipup against Whitney's Miltank was female, while in the games it was male, meaning that the genders were randomized, and not set properly to match the games. Whitney might've had even more of an advantage if the genders of pokemon were set accordigly.

10:58 A trainer in the Lighthouse mentions that he remembers back when Jasmine was a Rock Type Gym Leader before the Steel Type was discovered (or probably "came to be understood by humanity" is more accurate). The Magnemite are clearly new additions in accordance with the type change but it's easy speculation that her Steelix was still on her Gym Team as an Onix back in those days. Onix being a Rock Ground Dual-Type would benefit defensively from learning Sunny Day via TM aside from the circumstantial Solar Beam and in Gen 2 Sandstorm was just chip damage, it wasn't until Gen 4 that it provided stat buffs like Sunny Day and Rain Dance always did.

11:32 the reason why jasmi e has sunny day on steelix is because in g/s/c the trainer fights her after she recently transitioned from being a rock gym leader. Her only pokemon at the time was onix. If i recall correctly those two magnemite were either recently caught or used to help sustain Amphy at the light house.

Nemona with Skeledirge being the highest proves that Skeledirge is the strongest of the 3 Gen 9 starters.

As much as I love Quaxly, Skeledirge being the best starter for in-game is not shocking at all. Amazing bulk, access to reliable recovery through Mirror Herb picnics, Fire/Ghost being an absolutely nutty typing both offensively and defensively, Will-o-Wips+Hex being both great utility and natural movepool synergy, and obviously Torch Song easily being the best starter signature move of all time. The Gen 9 starter trio as a whole though is probably the most solid trio we've had since Sinnoh. But the biggest thing that props Feucoco over the other 2 is Unaware mostly being a competitive only ability. If Sprigatito had access to Protean and Quaxly had Moxie this trio would likely be the only one to not have a definitive 'best' option.
