It wasn't shiny, it was a female. Shiny male Hippowdon and female Hippowdon swap colors, and vice versa.

Sadly that’s not the case, the female ones have a grey body, that turn into a darker green. The male ones apparently turn from a tan to a more of a yellow color.

I checked the stats, and it looks like that was just an editing mistake since in the team recap Forretress is faster than is possible if it only had 120 base speed. Instead it looks like something went wrong and it had -half as many Speed EVs as it was supposed to- min speed IVs.

Doesn't seem to be a mistake in EVs, as there's no easy way to forget half of them. In PKHex you'd need to specifically type in 128 EVs and in game you'd need to somehow put in 13 vitamins exactly. It seems the base 'mon they used when genning the mons in had a Spe IV of 0. Double checked max investment/min IV against Forretress and Eelektross, both match up.

I'm not familiar with how genning tools work and the stats working out with exactly 128 EVs of all numbers seemed unlikely to be a coincidence, but a 0 speed IV 100% makes more sense. I didn't even think to check the IVs because I didn't see why they wouldn't just be 31s across the board. Going back through and checking, it actually looks like it's *only* Forretress and Eelektross that have 0 speed IVs, as every other mon's stats seemed to line up without issue. Forretress makes sense to me, since *normally* it wants to run min speed to maximize gyro ball, but that doesn't explain Eelektross and I'm not sure if that's actually how it works haha.

Hey Pat, I got an interesting idea for a video. Six rounds of randomized starters that you will “sketch” a move from each, an ability from one, a stat (each stat can only be chosen once) from one and the typing form another on to a smeargle. The stat, ability and type all come from different staters.

Guess correctly, and depending on how much you have affected your odds, that will determine what buff you receive. Miss - opponent learns what Pokémon you chose Choose 2 Columns (x2) - 1 custom non-boosting move (60BP or lower) Choose 2 Rows (x3) - roll 3 random abilities and choose 1 Choose 1 Column (x4) - 1 custom non-boosting move (80BP or higher) Choose 1 Row (x6) - any ability (not cringe) Choose 1 Number (x24) - any ability (not cringe) and 2 non-boosting custom moves plus roll a set of 3 random abilities and choose one for one of your opponents Pokémon (do this part at the end). Note that the custom move/ability can not be used more than once, and once someone has picked that move/ability, it can not be picked again.

So I'm only about 6min in, & a flaw I'm noticing with this challenge is, you guys are going off the stats of the Pokémon on-screen, even if they're NFE, but those stats don't work once they evolve. Like yeah Fomantis may have 3 stats that are all the same/worst, but Lurantis has a clearly defined worst stat of Speed. Now maybe I'm early & when the Team Comp part shows up the Evolved Stats will be the ones flipped, but if not... eh, feels weird. Otherwise, great video! The challenges on yours are pretty cool, Pat!

I was SO surprised that Hippowdon was faster than forretress so I went back and checked the stats. It looks like Forretress has a 0 speed IV. With the right IVs Forretress outspeeds Hippowdon and it would have been a totally different set of battles! Also, at 26:00 it looks like Torterra is accidentally invested in Attack not Sp. Attack, though I don't think this one actually mattered at any point.

How about a video changing the stats by taking the average of each stat across all Pokemon, and then inverting the chosen pokemon's stats across those averages. E.g. Say the Average Attack stat across all Pokemon is 90. You choose a Pokemon with 60 Attack, 30 below average. It's Attack stat will now be 120. This idea would make baby pokemon overpowered and legendaries unusable, could be fun!

Did something go wrong with the stats? Some of them just didn't seem right, for example the torterra had 189 attack with a negative nature but was supposed to be base 55 while spatt was 186 with base 75...
