Pats spot on, I had a similar experience when i was 13. Im 40 now so it was a while ago now. My grandad passed away when i was 13 and i was very close to him. It was a major shock when he died. A few nights after he died i was in bed and the room temp dropped dramatically. I looked at my wall opposite my bed and there on the wall almost like an old cine camera projection was my grandad dressed in something blue with white round his collar and something red on his left side that looked like a flower. I was terrified even though i knew he wouldnt hurt me. I ran to my mom and told her what I saw and she got my dad and asked me to explain what i saw. Now my grandad is my dads dad and my dad was the last and only person to see him in the coffin before his funeral. My dad is a sceptic so he asked me a few questions to try and debunk what happened. So i explained what i saw, he was dressed in blue he had white round his collar and something like a red flower on him. My dad went white then asked me which side the flower was on so i told him it was on his left side. My dad was shocked and preceded to tell me that he was buried in a navy blue shroud with a white frilly collar. Now my grandad used to always have a poppy for remembrance sunday to honour all those that died in the great wars. Just before the coffin lid was closed my dad put a poppy on my grandads shroud on the left hand side where i saw it. Now no one knew my dad had done that at all. So my mom has gone into my room and it was that cold you could see your breath. My mom shouted out please leave him alone dad your scaring him. I never seen him since. True story. My nan actually got upset he never went to see her. The memory is as vivid today as it was back then. Just thought i would share my experience.

In my old house I used to see doors opening and closing on their own, I would even lock the door at night and sometimes still see the doorhandle move. Once I saw the front door open and close and a shadowy figure came in and stomped up the stairs. I followed it and found absolutely nobody. I wasn´t really scared because I believed it was my grandma who had passed away.

Josh Walker There is no way of recording such things that would convince you, if it showed something you don´t believe in. My old house was haunted here in NJ. My mom use to tell story of the guy who was walking down the street went behind a tree and disappeared. Didn't go into a house or car or anything. After my cat died I would see the appropriation of my cat from time to time out of corners of my eyes coming down the stairs. Then one night I heard cat meowing where her litter box was. Then the new house the door to apartment section was blocked with no one back there. I walked into apartment and lights were out. Voice as clear as day says "Don't turn on the lights" I run up the stairs. I'm calling my mom seeing if she is back there. She was upstairs. Everyone else in bed.

When I was about 6 or 7 years old i lived out in this farm house that my mom was renting out. I was the only one who seen stuff in the house. I don't know if you would call them "ghosts" or "demons" or whatever but I remember waking up 2 occasions and seeing something. One of those times I woke up and I seen a face that looked like scary mask that was floating and I was terrified. I ran downstairs and it was chasing me and as soon as I entered the kitchen (only room in the house with the lights on) it disappeared and my mom was in the kitchen. She didn't see anything but I remember what the face looked like in perfect detail to this day. Story told.

I have never seen anything crazy but I have felt uneasy at houses others say are haunted long before they say anything of the place. I feel fine in my new house but in older houses like my grandmas I have felt a presence at times. I don't like to be alone there. I agree with pat, I am a chemistry major but I feel there are things outside the grasp of science as we know it now. Perhaps our understanding of space time is infantile and this unexplained phenomena will be explained in time.

I always had a lot of weird experiences in my old house I just moved out of a few months ago. I lived alone, and I'm a night owl, so late at night when it's completely quiet and nobody else is around, i'd often hear voices of people talking. Almost always a woman. I also often heard what sounded like Chinese and Russian radio broadcasts of some sort. But there was no obvious source for these sounds. I remember once about 8 years ago my daughter was staying over at my house one night, she was about 5 and we were both asleep in my bed. And in the middle of the night I woke up, I dunno maybe 2 or 3am, and I saw this grey figure standing at the foot of my bed. My logical reaction was to shriek like a banshee and for some reason make a mad dash for the light switch in the hall outside my room, instead of the light switch in my room, which was right over my head. My daughter for some reason didn't stir at all, despite all of the commotion. So the next day I figured it was just a dream, since my daughter should have woken up with my screaming so loud right next to her and what not. But I remembered scraping my hip on the latch for the door to my room while I was running to the light switch, and sure enough my hip was scraped up from that. So whatever it was, it really happened. In retrospect, I chalk it up to a sleep induced hallucination. I had another odd experience in too. It was 3am and I was in my living room on the computer. The only light on in the house was a lamp I had on next to the computer. I got hungry, so I decided to have a slice of pizza from the box that was sitting on my kitchen table. I went over to it, opened the box, stuck my head in and grabbed for a slice, not bothering to turn the light on in the kitchen, since the light coming from the living room made it bright enough for me to see. And out of the corner of my eye, hovering about 6in in front of my fridge was a bright, glowing, yellow ball of light, about the same size as a golf ball. As soon as I glimpsed it, I turned and looked directly at it, and it just sat motionless for a second. Then it just winked out of existence without a trace or a sound after I had looked at it or a second or two. The whole event didn't last long, but it certainly scared the crap out of me. I tried to figure out if there was any possible way the light could have been coming from outside, but there was no conceivable source that I could

I was around 11 and alone at my grandma's house in South Dakota at the time. Probably 10 or 11 am. I'm playing Diddy Kong Racing on N64 when i hear water running. Didn't think too much at first but then paused the game and tried to find the sound. Initial thought was a burst pipe. Checked the kitchen, no water. Opened the door to the creepy basement, nothing. I make my way to the back of the house where the bathroom is... And i hear water running.. The bathroom has no windows and is pitch black during the day. As i get closer, the water sound is definitely coming from the bathroom. I turn on the light and the sink is plugged and the water is running _hard._ Like full blast. The sink is completely full. The weird part was i've never seen anyone use the plug, it's a plunger type on the back of the sink. It wasn't a large sink to begin with so why plug it? My grandfather had a heart attack in the bathroom and died like 15 years before i was born. Thanks to Ghost Adventures, i've learned these type of hauntings are "residual" hauntings. Like a single frame inside an old tape film reel. A moment replaying in time. Scared the shit out of me. But since then, i've become fascinated with paranormal things including going into haunted places but never experiencing anything else. Also, lol @ Ian's complete dismissal of things people experience and witness. Alright buddy. Ian is wrong but that's okay. I watch Buzzfeed Unsolved to see a skeptic try to rationalize. Believers can't explain it either. I believe you Pat and agree with your take! It's not something we understand fully. Tell us more stories!

When we were building the place I was only, '3' years old and my Grandfather passed away, and the upstairs was not done being built so we were all living in the basement. My Mom & Dad swear they heard footsteps up stairs, and my Dad swears they were the stride/step of my Grandfather. I never knew that tell years later, but everyone of us kids had some strange shit happen downstairs, no way in hell could I ever go back to live in that place even for a night! '

Damn, my father had a similar experience like your sister did in the house I grew up in. He got up in the middle of the night when I was an infant (I was wailing for some reason or another) to take care of me, and when he got there, my mom already had me, so he went to go back to sleep, and my mom was in the bedroom asleep still, so my dad rushed back to my room and I was on the floor out of my crib still wailing. They moved my crib into their room that day. lol. I can even remember seeing a figure standing at the top of our stairs when I was a child (ironically, in front of that room I was in as an infant), and my friends all saw it too, and most refused to spend the night because of it and because it happened so often. There are so many other stories too. It's fucked up to be real... I honestly don't know if what we all saw were ghosts, but there was something, because you could bring a person into the house and never tell them a thing and have them tell you they see objects moving/dark shadows/wisps/etc. later (because they'd freak out)...
@nichecarved24339 жыл бұрын
I grew up with stories like these from my friends family across the street from my old childhood home. I believed them and fully believed in ghost when I was young. I no longer believe in ghosts. I think the usual stories can be explained away either through old house/breeze, creeks, and electrical things. Electricity especially or even radio waves. I just haven't ever experienced my own ghost happenings. And if I did believe in ghost, such as the one my friend claims is in his upstairs part of the house, they aren't bothering anybody. It's chill as fuck. and if you think about what a modern ghost may do, it would just be checking it's phone all day. So no worries. I ain't afraid of no ghost.

Probably not but her Energy? I think it was. its no longer Taboo to talk about Ghosts like it was 20 years ago and so many stories all cant be MADE UP. I've known people who woke up in the middle of the night saying "something happened". You turn on the news, a tsunami, terror attack or whatever happened and thousands of people had died. Even if it was on the other side of the globe. Same people also claimed they could see spirits or a spirit and followed them around until they decided to leave because everything was OK or they had found a girlfriend and weren't alone anymore. One dude believed his dead great grandpa watched over him just like that. People who knew him said he never smiled but when he did smile he never saw his ghost again.

I grew up in an old farm house in very rural Maine. 40 minutes to the nearest grocery store in 2008. was used as a stage coach stop, and then a prison farm during the early 1900's. During the prison farm days, guy got off the chain gang, went to the house, killed the sheriff's wife and 14 year old son (I have newspaper clippings showing the blood stains in the kitchen), stole the old model A Ford, then went and killed his parents, his wife, and his children. after he was buried, the townspeople decided he didn't deserve a Christian burial. dug up his body, dragged it to the house and tried to burn it to the ground with his body in it. the house was saved but required major renovations over the next 50+ years. I've seen and heard so much messed up stuff in that house I can't even begin to describe it. straight up Stephen King shit. secret room under the spiral staircase that goes nowhere (ceiling was sealed to the third floor, it's literally a spiral staircase into the ceiling), dirt basement lined with Dexter style, translucent, white plastic. the original wallpaper (cowboys and Indians) is still hanging in the attic where said 14 year old kid had his room. little shutter doors where the slaves would pass food to the dining room from the kitchen... the place was never negative, but damn was it haunted. I'm with Pat on this topic. shit ain't no joke. edit: we discovered the history AFTER a lot of weird stuff occurred, not before. just to be clear.

There was an article a little while ago that said that medical science has explained at least the "out of the corner of your eye" phenomenon. It has something to do with the inner part of your eyeball (the jelly or whatever) vibrating opposite to whatever is vibrating the air and it has to be a certain frequency. Kinda like the same oscillation phenomenon that made the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse or something. It like pushes against the retina or something and makes forms appear at the extreme edges of your vision. Don't quote me on that, I'm no medical scientist (so all the trolls can just sit and spin), but that's what I think I remember from that. But that still doesn't explain the forms you saw straight on.

I'm with Ian on this one and I think this whole ghost thing is something that is deeply rooted in american culture. I'm from germany and we don't have that. I have never met anyone in my entire life that told me something like what Pat described. Maybe it's because of the spiritualism movement in the 19th century or just plain halloween, but I've noticed that americans in general or much more open to the idea of ghosts or the supernatural. I don't want to offend anyone, I study media studies and think this is just very interesting.

My parents house from the 1880s a couple different areas that are affected by issues like that and even much worse. Everyone in my family has experienced them and most of our friends too. Had experiences in the middle of the day when I'm dead sober and in just about any other mental state you could be. Different kinds of experiences in different areas of the house too. Lots of things like Pat described happen on the 3rd floor of the house in addition to all kinds of sounds including the very seldom disembodied voice and the much more frequent sound of music that is very muffled and difficult to hear but always the same distinctive song. The family room and kitchen on the main floor have much more irregular disturbances. Loud aggressive sounding racket like somebody took the silverware drawer and threw it across the room. My father and I are both engineers so these things are definitely nothing that can be easily explained

Pat, I don't know how the hell you spent another night in that house. Have you or anybody in your family looked into the history of that house and come up with anything? Stuff like that scared the s**t outta me as a kid, and STILL scares the s**t outta me to THIS DAY, because this really happens. Apparently you got somewhat used to it and accepted it to some degree, but I was always terrified of the "paranormal." I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in demons manifesting themselves as other things, even so-called "friendly" ghosts. There's no such thing as a "friendly-ghost." The so-called "friendly-ghosts" are what causes people to think they can contact their dead loved-ones through a Ouija-board or whatever, but that's not the case at all. "Satan disguises himself as an angel of light", couldn't be more true.

I saw a child peek around the corner into the room and disappear back behind door frame in the hallway. i was like nahhhh ..... then Ashley (sister in law) says "was that layne?" I've always been skeptical until I went to an old abandoned psychiatric institute with a feew friends. The Dorea institute if you want to check it out. We were exploring one of the buildings. Opening doors as we went. We went through the first and second floor and we decided to check out the basement. As soon as I took the first step on the stairs the doors on the first and second floor started slamming shut. BANG BANG BANG BANG.... BANG BANG BANG. Then it stopped. We all just stood there looking at each other. After a few seconds our gaze all went to the top of the stairs. To that one room with a shock therapy chair in it. The door slammed itself shut right in front of us. Not like if it was an air currrent. You know the door slowly shutting and the at the last second picks up speed to slam. No it was like someone kicked it shut really hard. We all took off running. When we got to the car everyone was fucking shaking. One of us simply said: There's absollutely no wind. The leaves in the trees aren't even moving. What the fuck was that?

much of the hallucinations during sleeping can be attributed to parts of the body being conscious before others which can lead a person to still be in somewhere over dream state so they see those things, such as a figure that you saw.

For any of you skeptics, until you actually see something or are a part of something "paranormal" you will always hate on the people who say they have had such experiences.

Ive been told by both of my grand mothers that me and two of my cousins had experiences. my mom's mother said i saw my dead grandpa while on a walk with her when is was two years old. why does she think this well apparently i used to dance for him so on instinct i guess i did. my cousin on my fathers side was told he was visited by my father's and his mother's father at the age of 4. he was told to look after the family apparently. he had never met nor seen our grand pa but when shown a photo of him he said that it was him. my other cousin on my mothers side was being watched by my great grand ma and was coming out of a nap from watching his not 2 months old self and said she saw an angle hover above his crib. for the next few month my aunt never left his side.

+Chip Douglas Firstly, realize I'm not American. Secondly, there's no direct response I could give to your statement that wouldn't come across as extremely hostile and condescending, and given I was just making a lighthearted joke to begin with, I don't particularly feel like being baited into yet another petty internet squabble over religious beliefs and the intelligence of those who hold them. Have a happy Halloween.

When I saw a girl with a knife's shadow walking along my wall I became a believer of supernatural spirits. "Ghosts" is the wrong word. If your house was built in the 1960s I find it hard to believe a spirit got attached. If you had an attic or cellar there very well could have been some old personal items in there that a spirit could have been attached to. The fact that you have visual apparitions is very serious, especially a black mass.

What you saw is a 'shadow person'. I've read plenty of real life stories like this and what you described fits other people's experiences EXACTLY. The height, appearence, feeling, everything you described is consistent.

I know people who had similar experiences. I'm with Ian on the collective experience thing. Someone see's something because of some weird light or reflection. Later on someone sees something similar and thought it was a boot and tells the first person, then the first person pictures a boot in that situation and automatically associates it with their memory. I was able to picture a boot in a house just from your description so it is entirely possible for the above scenario to happen. Then person 3 hears their stories and whenever something catches their eye, they automatically associate the boot with it. Just my opinion with not much knowledge on how the brain really associates memories and whatnot.

Pat have you or anyone in your family looked into the history of the house? the only time I ever felt something unearthly was when I was a kid in my grandmothers house I was lying in bed and I felt the mattress beneath me move up as if someone underneath was pushing it up no one else was in the room to my knowledge so it definitely could have been a cousin trying to mess with me

Me AND my brother both seen a shadow man run across the wall in a room with curtains and no possible way to create moving shadows. We were playing Call of Duty and seen it at the same time, both turned and looked at eachother in amazement/confusion. The figure was the same tint as a dark shadow, but the outline of was very clear, i remember it vividly.

When i was about 16 i drove a scooter with a friend on the back of it. It was late and on the path suddenly walked an old man. We both saw him. I turned the scooter since it was 1am and we wondered what he was doing that late. he was gone! And there was no where he could have gone to in that 30 secs! As i said we both saw the man. That is one of many unexplainable things i have seen or did happen to me. So yes i believe there is something more.....and for sure that was not a hallucination or dream state thing since we both whitnessed the same thing!

A lot of spooky stuff that happens when people wake up or sleep is due to sleep paralysis. Feel a presence in the room and you can see things. You feel trapped since your brain hasn't turned your body back on yet. I remember seeing shit fly at me when this would happen and would feel serious dread. Still experience now and then but I know what it is so there is no fear just annoyance lol.

I got a phone called by a ghost one time lol no lie! my brother was having a little get together in the living room with some friends and his girlfriend while my parents were out of town for the weekend and so they didn't know he was entertaining, I was in my parents room watching tv, I didn't know any of his friends and they probably didn't even know I exist let alone my name, hes older, so someone calls the house phone (this was the early 2000s) and I answer, and it sounded like someone who was is a big hurry saying my name like 2 times telling me to put jennifer on the phone (my brothers girlfriend) and so I walked to the living room and handed her the phone and nobody was on the phone, they hung up, so I figured that was really weird but no big deal whatever I was like 16, I found out later that my brothers girlfriend had a ghost in her house and I saw a picture of it, it was really scary looking, u can see the figure of a boy in one of those long mirrors in her room, the figure was all different kinds of colors but u can clearly see eyes a mouth and a face and a body... there's no other explanation of who could have called, like literally NOBODY that knew my brothers girlfriend knew me or my name
@daleva187goligo9 жыл бұрын
+daleva187goligo I don't know why I didn't think to ask who it was, maybe cuz they seemed to be in a hurry by the tone of their voice, and I dont think there was caller ID on that particular phone and it never occurred to me to use *69, I was just like whatever, didn't think much of it at the time, was still trying to process it I guess or maybe I thought I would eventually find out later who called like it would reveal itself, but it never did

Explain this... Hearing a voice out of middle of an apartment say "hello?" No windows or anything... Later had friend from apartment ask me if a girl was in my room because they stopped by and knocked on my door (I didn't hear because took shower hour after voice) and said they heard a voice say "we're busy"... There are a lot of things that can be explained away by perception but this incident seemed to be a lot more than simply hallucinations or coincidence. Just a thought/story.
