Patti Labelle performs - Christmas Musical at Wash. DC

This is from a Christmas Concert Special where many popular artists and choirs performed for the Whitehouse during Bill Clinton's presidency. The excerpt includes a couple of revitting songs performed by the always dynamic performer/vocalist Patti Labelle. The songs are "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and "Oh Holy Night."

Patti truly has an annointed voice, demonstated on this medley...and at the end of Oh come all ye Faithful....she reached Heaven with that high C note...above the combined choirs...WOW...

I was there during the practice sessions for this performance. She never sang the song the same way twice during the practice sessions and Aaron Neville was such a gentile quiet man. I remember there were names on the seats on pieces of paper to say who would be sitting where. I sat in the president's seat and I just cant imagine being that close to her perform this and not have been crying.

Patti n the choir took them to church. .the black church experience where u can see n feel the Spirit of God moving..I'm sure somebody was ready to give a shout of praise n that place..that lady at 4:04 was wiping her eyes..I feeling mother..she was moved..thank u Lord for Patti n blessing her with the gift of song

Patti is the grand lady of soul!!! What a great soaring vocal range. Great choir and great piano. I also recommend her cool version of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." Another great holiday song that will touch your heart: The Spirit of Christmas by John Starley Allen (new version)
