You need to peep her 2000 version of You Are My Friend, Dr Cosby introduces her… consider she was in her late 50s when she did THAT performance.

This is a beautiful song and Ms. LaBelle is amazing, no one like her. The 70's was a decade of musical talent you don't see today- singers, writers, and accomplished musicians.

When i think about it performances like this shows how truly lucky, and gifted she really is, to have that natural pitch perfect tone, added with impeccable vocal instinct and precise delivery regardless of note, add to that 5 full octaves of vocal capability. It inspires me

I'm a big music fan who has been blessed to live in perhaps one of the greatest eras of music. Patti was one of the singers who contribute her remarkable voice to that legacy. I've seen her in concert several times and was simply blown away. Her intensity and passion are unmatched. Thanks for sharing your appreciation for the greats with us. You make listening to these performances fun.

You were feeling this love it!! I was lucky enough to see the tour for the “Burnin’” album which this song was on and saw her sing this live… it was incredible to say the least. Every song at that concert got a standing ovation. You can watch the whole concert on KZbin just look up Patti Labelle Live In New York… you will be blown away. I’ve seen many live concerts by legendary artists… but this stands out as the best concert I’ve ever been to.

Seeing her in concert in Dallas during the late 2000’s was priceless. She brought the house down. I was in awe and she was in late 50’s. Her voice hit its prime in her 40’s and 50’s. Her longevity is unmatched for sure.

Patti can't help herself. The Spirit is in her. She just sings with all of her heart & it's a joy to see her perform. I love everything Patti💖💕❤️. You have to see her Soul Train performance of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" live. It made me cry.
