RICHARD SOHL. Died aged 37, June 3rd 1990. He was Patti's keyboard player. That keyboard you hear playing over the names she's reciting? He wrote that, he played that on the original recording. He played with Patti the first time she played CBGBs. She made him there for the last.

That was the most heartfelt thing I've seen since I was in the presence of Joe Strummer. Simply perfect. I remember seeing Patti when I was 12 at cbgb's (my dad took me, thanks dad). I never thought like a 12 year old again.

What a moving tribute to the mother of all live music venues. CBGB RIP. I heard they are moving it to Las Vegas, I hope it's just a viscious rumour!!

Wonderful tribute at the end. CBGBs not being protected by the city is ridiculous. I woulda had to have drank alot to be like that guy who said "you forgot one" (a lotta nerve to intrude on the moment!), but I was listening for Wendy O. Williams. Another great one from that era that we're missing.

The closing of CBGBs could not have had a more appropriate song. Yes, this was one of the most underrated songs oF that album. I loved it back in the day as much as I love it now. GO Patti rip Hilly

@skaterthump32 It was great... I remember laying on the floor there years ago and ordering drinks and they served me without blinking an eye.... The place was about freedom and expression. I saw some great great acts there. Down in the Bowery. Ahhhh it's making me sad. I love you Patti.

you realize the sadness of losing richard sohl when you hear the keyboard player play the wrong chords during Patti's beautiful vocalization in the center of this song. one who seizes possibilities.

Patti was supposed to join B.O.C at the 40th anniversary But hurricane Sandy forced the postponement! But she did play with them & Allen in rehearsal! Check out the video of her doing "Career of Evil" it's amazing & in itself a eulogy. Well miss you Allen! DTFR

Well lucky you that it was not YOU that I called "sugarplum". Its just a word I personally use to describe someone I find very attractive. I like it when anyone gives me a compliment, no matter what word they use :)

All.. err, most of the punk rock greats started at CBGB. It WAS a dumbass idea to move it to fucking Vegas. They should have kept it in CA. Anyways, Patti's awesome.
