Céline Dion’s version
@josebrown59612 жыл бұрын
@@maxdominate2481 Celine did the song years after this one. Celine did nothing different to the song, basically it is like she is doing karaoke. A true ARTIST takes a song and makes it their own. Ike and Tina Turner did Proud Mary after CCR and their version is the same song but you know it is not CCR when you hear it. That’s what makes it a true version. Any bar band can do the song just like CCR did…Or in this case, Celine singing this song just like Labelle. And some say she did ‘better’-she did it years later, she had time to listen to it and do her little thing. It is not like she did the song at the same time. There is one song like that, “How Do I Live” by Lee Anne Rimes. That song was also done by Trisha Yearwood. The songwriter wrote the song for Lee Anne and when the movie company heard it they wanted a more adult sound and got that from Trisha. Lee Anne released the song anyway and had success with it. Both their versions sound the same, the difference is their voices. LeeAnne sounds young and fun Trisha sounds older and more mature. That is why the movie company wanted her, they didn’t want a 14 year old singing the love theme of the movie.

Patti Labelle's version of this song makes me cry because I remember her being interviewed about this video. She said her sister had just past away from breast cancer as they were shooting. Her performance, the tears were all real. I remember my sister at that time was in the hospital in a coma with Encephalitis/ severe seizures/ and I was told she would either die or she was going to be a "vegetable". My sister was in a coma for about a month before she regained consciousness. She had to learn to walk and talk again, but she pulled through and graduated high school later that year. I love Celine's version as well.

Not only is Patti LaBelle ever so gorgeous & talented, but her music, along with all type of music of the 80's & 90's was the most beautiful & meaningful music ever written. Pay attention to all you Millennials out there who think everything is so easy, & instant. I truly feel sorry for your generation that is completely lost in all aspects of life. Notice the instrumentals & background choir!? That is no longer found in today's music. I love my generation where Men acted like Men, we dressed up before going out. We courted our ladies, & sang to them with songs like this one. We still said 'Good Morning' to Ppl around us. We had "Break-up' & 'Falling in Love' songs.... Read more
