Right, but Ursula died too, how did she came back to life? That's what I didn't get, like, in the song, they mentioned Ursula traded the Sea King's Crown for the Evil Queen's life (which makes me wonder why would Ursula do so, and that makes me yet more curious for more episodes), but, what I tried to understand is... just like the Evil Queen and Maleficent, Ursula was also killed and, didn't have any crown to trade, so how did she even get back to life and got the crown? That's what I'm curious about... aaagghh, I need more episodes of thiiiis 😂😂

@@CCaster2000 The movie doesn't leave it opened, Ursula died, or else Triton wouldn't be able to stop being... you know one of those THINGS that "belong to Ursula", the only way for him to come back is if the deal is fullfilled or if Ursula died, which was the case. But yeah, you can be right, Ursula maybe didn't die and didn't get impaled in this universe, but instead, won, defeated Triton and kept the crown. The Queen may be the one officially in charge, but she holds the status shakily. I think that many of the villains could potentially or definitely beat her in a one-on-one fight and take control. The only thing stopping this is such a fight could lead to an all out brawl to be on top, weakening the alliance as a whole and risking whoever started and potentially won the 1-on-1 fight. However, if I had to bet, Maleficent is the one I would say would come out on top. I think both the Queen and Maleficent know this, which is why the Queen is flustered and angry, constantly trying to put Maleficent down, while Maleficent is calm, cool, collected, and constantly pointing out the faults in the Queen’s statements and jabs.

@@brianedner8125 The wings were Maleficent's price to get the curse, not to be even with Ursula. I think Ursula made with Maleficent the same type of deal she made with Ariel. If Maleficent does use the Cauldron to bring back someone, either aside from Hades or other then him, I have a few guesses base on the man Disney content I've seen related to Maleficent: 1. Chernabog - one popular Disney KZbinr claims she and the Evil Queen were students of Chernabog. It's also believed that the Forbidden Mountain, Maleficent's home, was once Bald Mountain, the home of Chernabog. 2. Diablo - we have yet to see her faithful pet and her only true friend. It's possible that Diablo was killed by another villain or one of the heroes from Maleficent' story. 3. Her wings - it's possible Maleficent will use the Cauldron in a way that brings her wings back without dealing with Ursula again. 4. Child - there might be a hidden child from Maleficent's past, with the father being possibly either Chernabog, King Stefan or Hades, since some works about Maleficent has Hades as a lover, past lover or possible lover, like Descendants 3. So this would be a neat chance to bring in the children of the villains from the Descendants films.

Right? I noticed that too. Maleficent’s smile never really drops for pretty much the entire song, even as the Evil Queen is insulting her. I've always wondered if there was ever any animosity or tension between the Evil QUEEN and the MISTRESS of All Evil, and this PROVES it! It also shows why two of Disney's most sinister ladies are frightened of a pudgy sea witch; URSULA was the one that brought the Queen back to life and the one who gave Mal the spell for Aurora. SHE was partially responsible for them becoming the women they are today and being in the positions they are now.

🎵Not Quite🎵 You’re half right. The Queen does have a debt to pay, but Maleficent does not. As Maleficent said on the Queen’s debt: “In the sea you drowned, but the sea witch found An opportunity and brought you back to solid ground Quite the find she made, for your life she’d trade The sea king’s crown a deal that you betrayed” On the other hand, the Queen herself said: “There was once a king who had found his bride, but a winged-green fairy the kingdom denied Stephan’s love you lost, so the sea you crossed A deal for a sleeping curse your wings had cost” Since Maleficent is wingless, this seems to mean that the deal was already fulfilled. In short, Maleficent made and fulfilled a deal with Ursula to put Aurora under the sleeping spell, while when Ursula saved the Queen from death, the Queen betrayed the deal and still owes a debt to Ursula. Perhaps Maleficent has made another deal with Ursula since then and owes a different debt, but if so, I didn’t find it in this song.

Okay, I've been listening to the song some more because it is amazing. I've since noticed that Maleficent admitted in the beginning of the song, "True, I owe a debt". However, the deal between Maleficent and Ursula, as stated by the Queen, has been fulfilled, since the deal was in return for a sleeping curse, Maleficent would give up her wings to Ursula, which seems to have happened as Maleficent is wingless. Between these two things, I don't think Maleficent owes Ursula anything at this point, at least not anything that is known by the Queen or she would have thrown it in Maleficent's face. No, I believe that Maleficent's admission to debt is instead in referral to the Queen bringing her back, which may be one of the few reasons why Maleficent hasn't taken over this show (at least not yet), but it is just a theory. In total, I would say that you (@The why not gamer) are 3/4 right, as both of them owe a debt, but only one of them owes a debt to Ursula, at least based on my understanding of this. If either of you have any more little but crucial/subtle details to add, please do. I love a good and proper debate, and if I'm wrong about anything, I would like to have that pointed out so that I can either properly amend my theory, accept another's theory, or make a new one as needed.

Conflict is juicy, and it's great to see things other than just the progression of the main plot or them all being relatively "chummy" and calm as if they don't have conflicting personalities, goals, and levels of morality. Introducing side plots like the EQ and Mal's conflict, Mal's secret plan, etc. are making VL even more interesting and entertaining than before!

I LOVE THE TENSION BETWEEN THEM! I personally think that Maleficent one-handedly won the argument. Notice how she doesn’t show any sign of defeat even with the amount of punches the Evil Queen hit her with. Then she throws back sooo many punches of her own! Also she is soo sassy!
@glowworm22 жыл бұрын
Oh man! I love the way they keep bickering at one another. I especially love Grimhilde's line about Maleficent having the proper hat to be the court jester while Maleficent mentions that Grimhilde really needs someone to write down for her that they're off to revive Hades. The song is great, love that little "Not quite." from Maleficent at 4:57.
@Erika.Jupiter2 жыл бұрын
I adore how composed Maleficent stays in comparison to the Evil Queen, even acknowledging that she DOES owe a debt. She's confident and poised, well aware about the power imbalance between the two of them. Ursula is most likely the only one she actually views as an equal of sorts which is probably one of the reasons she's off scheming on her own. "If you want something done right, do it yourself." - and what better way to do that, than to handle a worthy opponent with caution than with the Queens desperation? Edit: Note that the Evil Queen seems to grow more desperate the further the story progresses. It seems she's desperately trying to stay in control while powerful "pawns" like Maleficent are further slipping out of her reach.

This so much! Maleficent spends almost the entire time smiling or smirking which is perfectly offset by the Queen's almost exaggerated displays of anger and frustration on her face.
@matthewcrispinwordofGod2 жыл бұрын

This is so amazing!!! The only flaw I have is that Maleficent did not have her wings last episode (It’s Not Me; It’s You) when she had a flashback of her giving the crown to Stephen. Perhaps, the Queen is wrong about Maleficent’s true backstory & motives. You can also see the Queen growing angry and starting to slip but Maleficent is keeping composure and ease. Maleficent seems satisfied with this convo with the Queen. So it appears that the Queen owes the sees witch a debt. She was suppose to get the sea king’s crown in exchange for Ursula bringing her back but she betrayed Ursula. Instead of repaying the debt, she locked Ursula up. Maleficent doesn’t owe anything because she gave up her wings to Ursula. She also doesn’t owe the Queen anything because she brought back the villains. It looks like Maleficent has her own secret agenda.
@rafaelmatos58512 жыл бұрын
Maleficent may have given up her wings to get the sleeping curse from Ursula, but that doesn't mean she is even with her. Her deal with the sea witch can be compared with the one Ariel did. She traded her voice for human legs, but she was still in debt to Ursula because of the three-days deadline. Maybe Ursula also had something like that with Maleficent because... well, it's Ursula we're talking about. Of course she would try to have one of the biggest baddies in her debt.

Truly thinking about it Maleficent does have a small upperhand, they both made deals with Ursula but while Maleficent payed hers by giving her wings for the sleeping curse, and the Evil Queen didn't give up the crown for her end of the deal. Unless Maleficent has another reason to be threatened by Ursula then The Evil Queen definitely has more to fear about Ursula being free.
@SeonaSara8 ай бұрын
No, bc it’s a deal just like with Ariel. And Maleficent/Ezmia failed so normally she had to give her soul to Ursula so she’s still in debt to her. She was dead before which ended the deal, but now that the Evil Queen brought her back to life, her deal with Ursula is still in order.

The only thing I love better than seeing a villain with a super ego is two villains with super egos. This showdown reminds me of a show I saw aboard the Disney Magic called Villains Tonight where the evil Queen and Maleficent had a "boo-off" to determine who was the most evil villain. As I recall, the Evil Queen won that battle so it will be interesting to see if she can retain her title in this round.😉 Awesome song by the way!😃 This was definitely worth the wait.
