Just a quick little edit I made on a whim with no huge amount of effort. Sometimes I get in this kind of mood. I don't know audio for shit, so I didn't try to add the dialogue back in. Anyway, upon rewatching Dune after seeing AoT, I see some similarities in where Paul's character is probably going compared to Eren. They can both see the future so to speak and they have a similar darkness to them, also Timothee could 10000% play Eren PERFECTLY in live action, he even sounds like Bryce Papenbrook, Eren's english dub VA. I'm not saying they SHOULD do a live action AoT, HELL NO, we already got one and it doesn't look good.

@Henbot
@Henbot 2 ай бұрын
Well to be fair DUNE was a very influential book and someone who has been a fan of it for 20 years, it wouldn’t surprise me if it does have some influence because it did remind me of it especially all the mind crossing past time and space and shared memories. People in Japan as you see with Akira director, CSM and Neon Genesis have influences from western media. Some NGE shape is influenced by an old British show called UFO. The maker of NGE was the leader of the fan club for the show in Japan. People seem to think too often that influences don’t travel beneath the far reaching skies.

Exactly! And it's not like Isayama isn't very clearly taking inspiration from Western history and culture in his story. He has done a lot of research on it and included it in his work since Attack on Titan takes place in a very Western inspired world with European names for most of the characters. And it's ironic because Dune is heavily inspired by Middle Eastern Cultures despite also being a western work of art written by a white guy. Maybe the moral of the story is when you look deep enough everyone everywhere influences each other. :P

Ehh I see what you mean but I would say Aot is more like Dune than it is Code geass. Aot and Code geass do have similar themes overall, However in terms of Lore, world building, characters, politics, etc, they're just too different imo. The closest similarities they have is their endings, but even then I think they're more different than they are similar. Code Geass's ending is more idealistic and fantastical, while Aot's ending is more realistic and horrific overall. That's not to say one is better than the other. I just think Aot and Code geass are way too different. Aot is more like Muv Luv a story that inspired it, even the endings of both stories are way similar to the point where it feels like a direct copy, that's why some people believe Aot will come back with a second ending just like Muv Luv did, but that's another topic.

Bad boy's father dies suddenly and the boy is forced into the battlefield. Once he has mastered his new powers, he meets up with all the other powers in the world, who want him dead. He duels the one most similar to him and after he wins, he basically controls the world and kills a bunch of people

Wait till you see Leto the second. The Wormin Time and The Titanin Time have so many parallels, specially the loving their sister bits.

*spoilers ahead* Eren has more similarities with Paul's son, Leto II than himself. - Their fathers are outsiders - Their mothers aren't their fathers' first wives - Power to transform into a monster (Leto can't change back) - save and unite the world by becoming the common oppressors of the people. - Both have powerful retainers (Duncan & Mikasa) - Both died by the hands of their retainers - Their deaths are necessary in creating a new era of peace. - Both can communicate with their predecessors who had their powers. - Both inherited memories of their predecessors.

Yup, that's true. Paul's arc makes so much more sense, he knew what he was doing and did it anyway. In case of Eren.. well he's just stupid, he said so and I believe him, it's the grand revelation, we thought there's something deep but there isn't. It's not tragic it's pathetic.
