Butler is a law professor at Georgetown University, a legal analyst for CNN and MSNBC, and frequent writer and speaker about issues related to racism and criminal justice. As a former federal prosecutor he has special insight into these matters, understanding not only how the system works, but how it can most effectively be challenged. Butler’s bold call-to-action starts with the need to abolish the principle known as The Chokehold, which is the popular assumption that all black men are dangerous, and must therefore be subject to rigorous policing. Butler has radical ideas for changing this and other racial biases, and he also looks at how black communities can use their own strengths to keep their neighborhoods safe rather than bringing in more police. Butler is in conversation with Kojo Nnamdi.

When he spoke about the young brotha that hung himself, the gravity and impact should continue to effect us all the same way as we vividly remember it and use it to assist each other against this system

Black folk need to police your own neighnorhoods with veterans . When the policr come they bring DEATH and trauma . Our vets know how to protect , they were trained for war. They would love to have something to do. They can volunteer for a while 24/ 7 we can have about 100 donating maybe an 1hr or 2 hrs a day around the clock. They would be on call for emergencies also.

This is a great man and his struggle is right. And black people has suffered and suffers horrible opression just by race. But notice that gentification, police fighting for the rich and against the poor, etc happens everywhere and in mostly white countries (like mine in Europe) too. There is very racial/racist war in America but it´s a class war too.

Professor Paul Butler, is Black Peoples " STAND YOUR GROUND "
@hezekiawhite8207
@hezekiawhite8207 4 жыл бұрын
Just what does stand your ground mean? It means to fight back by any means necessary. When are the people going to stop talking making videos and suing these racists lawless enforcement officers. Malcolm X is crying in his grave because his people are spineless won't fight back. In essence Malcolm X died for nothing.

How sad that the commentator had to read from paper word for word his credentials and educational background. This nerdy man looks educated so he must be lazy or not care about who he is introducing. A powerful and ambitious man who can make changes in our society by his mere presence and brilliance. So get it right next time nerd boy.
