The last I saw of Paul Darrow was his occasional role as a judge on Law & Order UK. I first saw him guest starring on Doctor Who before getting to know him as Avon on Blake's 7. He was quite a remarkable actor and he will be greatly missed. R.I.P., Paul.

Paul Darrow was to Blakes 7 what Larry Hagman was to Dallas. Thank you both gentlemen for creating such an iconic characters

I watched it as a kid back when it was originally broadcast and then decided to rewatch it now and…..wow…. It’s pure science fiction heaven. What it lacks in SFX is more than compensated by supreme writing and acting. Paul Darrow’s performance was outstanding!

Blakes 7 should have made a comeback in the 80s..paul darrow said its possible it will, in an interview in the early 80s...only if Terry nation was involved....never happened unfortunately...loved Avon , my favourite character..his genius and darkside was acted superbly..RIP Paul..

Lovely chap, met him in 2006. Absolute gentleman. He's had a rough few years but it's nice to see him looking so well and still working on many projects. All power to him. Hope to meet him again soon. You can never mistake that voice of his :)

Ah, the two best things about Blake's 7? Dudley's theme and Avon. That show sparks so may truly *_great_* memories for me and its super to see Paul recovering after his serious health problems. As one who has spend more than 25 months in hospital since 2004, I know exactly how precious good health really is.

I am inspired By Mr.Paul Darrow even before the Blake 07 TV series .I saw him When Mr.Paul Darrow acted as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the TV series . One MAN acted as a one of a kind . A Alpha Male a Alpha Lion who have a chest a heart like a Alpha man . Even a women who dominates the universe likes make a partner out of him -- Servalane -- in Blake 07 . I have seen Mr.Paul Darrow after Blake 07 in some TV series programs but the actor remains the same like a Lion . He was also a Comedian a one who makes people smile and laughter he was very very good at it . Thanking You - Avon - A D Narada Thilakarathna from SRI Lanka .

Both Darrow and Thomas trained at RADA, and Patrick Stewart was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, so the moral seems to be that if producers cast classical actors in their films and shows, box office and ratings success is virtually guaranteed..:)

Darrow said a while back that he wouldn't mind playing Dr Who, so hopefully they'll cast him in the role; what a milestone that would be for the disabled lobby, the first Doctor to be in a wheelchair..:)....PS- I admired Avons strength of character but I'm still not sure I liked him as a person; I mean, was he REALLY going to kill Vila and jettison his body so the lightened shuttle could achieve escape velocity?
