Don't keep backing up in a straight line when someone is kicking you like that. Go forward. Use your arms under his legs and you can take him down easy as you move forward.

H4I2I2EE theyre training for a sport. One where there is no takedowns. I doubt they care what would work "in the streets". Who are you to, or what makes you think you should give advice to an Olympian, World medalist and 2x olympic gold medal producing coach about how to do his own sport?

Oh I wasn't addressing anyone in particular; just whoever came across my comment. Oh ok its part of the sport. I always see them backing up in straight line.I was thinking to myself that you don't have to do it that way but if its about points or something then I guess I am looking at it in the wrong context. I know judo is a sport in the olypics also but it also has real world applicability. You gotta put out there what you think you know so people can refute it and then that is how you can learn. Everyone you meet knows something you don't. I am interested in Tae kwon do. Where I live there is a dojo on every corner practically. I heard it's the most popular martial art world wide. You are right though. I lack a sports mentality when it comes to martial arts. Also I was watching other tae kwon do videos that weren't olympians and it looked the same so no offense dude. :D

Dude I know you don't have a response because your comment was not objective. Who am I tell an olympian why they lost a fight? Just ask me. I don't have to be anybody and I can still you why, for example, Rhonda Rousey(an Olympian) lost in the UFC against Holly Holm.

No, I didn't respond because I have other things to do besides constantly check KZbin for comment replies. My point is that the purpose of the video is training for a specific sport. So why would someone "go forward and take them down" when you cannot do that in this sport. The video is not showing kicking for "real world street fight applicability", it's a channel geared towards people who do this sport.

Even if I was out of the context of what they are training for in the video and I was talking about real world fight applicability(as you admit) then I must not have been talking about the sport yet you were still like "who are you tell an Olympian how to do his own sport?" It's a contradiction but ok whatever.
