I'm not an addict, just watching him cuz of his non duality speech. And damn, this guy's talk with the AA gave me more "holy shit!" moments than most of those gurus talking about dharma altogether. :D

@@WhoamI-su7pg Been watching Paul for quite some time and have started feeling the same way. People (including myself) find all kinds of ways to "check out". It may not be alcohol or drugs but whatever self-destructive habit it is becomes an addiction nonetheless (and God damn, I've been self destructive as hell throughout my life 😣). And all the tenets of the 12 steps apply. On a bigger scale, even people who don't have any major self-destructive habits are still pursuing some kind of happiness or ultimate enlightenment AS self, just like Paul explains. So in spite of having it "together" more or less, they still feel that something's missing and they're still trying to find it from the wrong angle as self.

Maybe "the me" would be a good word for 'self'. Be able to differenciate the I from the me easier maybe. I kinda think we are the "I" and the ego(or self?) is "me". Just a thought because Ramana and many others use the "self,Self" but obviously in a different way. Thanks big time man, I subbed immediately, and you are really something!
