Paul Kelly is an amazing singer/song writer. Love his music. Aussie music from the 60's to the 90's was so creative & energetic & never failed to deliver an amazing experience. We were blessed to grow up with this. I've not seen this original video before & I love it. Only found your channel about a month ago. Love you guys! I noticed that you are reacting to a lot of Aussie bands. Paul Kelly is great. Some of my favorites songs of his are Sweet Guy, Careless and How To Make Gravy. One Aussie band I never see anyone react to is, Noiseworks very underrated. Touch and RIP Millie are great songs and show what a really great voice Jon Stevens has. Jon Stevens is from New Zealand.

Just an FYI here- towards the end of the song, he sings about riding in a "silvertop." That's the name of a taxi company in Melbourne Australia. And when Paul Kelly sings about "the buttery," that is an alcohol and drug addiction rehab clinic.

Paul Kelly writes for the everyman. This song obviously loses his job, turns to alcohol. Another great one is How to Make Gravy where the "hero" of the song is in jail. It's an aussie christmas favourite. We also love "before too long", "leaps and bounds", "dumb things". Paul Kelly is a master story teller with decades of songwriting skill. He's an Austrlaian Icon but especially relevant to Melbourne
