I saw Big Reunion. As much as I love Ben, Christian and Mark, I also noticed how the change of formation in A1 had caused them to lose popularity. There were lots of instrument playing bands back then who were much better. I'm not calling the other three liars, but I can also believe Paul's version of events. It was quite heartbreaking listening to him sing Caught in The Middle. I thought he would've wanted to sing his own songs. Wish I could get the full version of the performance.

+Rahmi I'm sorry but the song Make It Good getting to number 11 in the singles chart is not losing popularity is it that is a fact- If it got to number 46 then yeah, and make it good album made top 20 as well and was a hit in many other countries as well............So they were still doing really well still- Just he didn't like the fact they stopped being a poppy dancy boyband

+mikey p to be honest, yes their popularity was still there but Sony/Columbia decided to drop them. They were notified and sat together to talk about it. I recall a fan begging on a1-online.com to buy the Make It Good album again a few days before Paul left because she heard Sony was planning to drop them. But it was too impossible to stop the label's decision and Chris already signed with Universal Norway even before the initial break up of a1. The other 3 were left without a contract and Ben had a hard time getting one himself. It took him a year to get signed and another 2 years to release a single which only went to #18 in 2005.

Okay we need to ,move on.They are reuniting already,Christian ,Mark ,Paul.and Ben.Actually they have a concert tour,here in Philippines ,last week October 2018.They sings there ,most popular songs,during there early teenage,career in A1 plus the new album and songs ,that they made and going to release.As a fan,I am happy that,atlast they're REUNITED again after long years past😍😍😍😍.

It's bad if both A1 and Paul himself, never try to patch things up. Look what happened when Robbie Williams left Take That. Look at what happened when German left the Spice Girls. Look at what happens when MANY bands split up. I know Paul left of his own accord. I hate it when they all become estranged from each other. It's like a bitter divorce happening right in front of your eyes. The kids don't need to see it.What's the point in keeping those memories, if it can't be fixed. Really though, it's immature. Deadly silence is a stupid way of going about it. Even Charlie from Busted ended up back with his old band mates, eventually.

I think this is a very good interview (although heavily edited) Paul was very gracious and there was no nastiness. What happened, happened it's in the past. I love A1 in particular the things they have done in recent years, waiting for daylight was fantastic the best work they have ever done. They sold themselves out on the big reunion they didn't need to do it! Paul was right not to join that train.

I have always wanted to hear both side of the story on why Paul left A1, but if he left just because the Make It Good single got to number 11, the other 3 didn't want to do anymore more dancing on video's and the album didn't do too well is a little ridiculous. Paul could've waited to release another album and see how things go before saying he wanted to leave the band. I think that there could've been compromise's as well on all parties on the whole dancing thing and being more of a serious band. If it was something more serious like some sort of bullying, or something else then okay, I'd understand. Yes it would've been nice if Paul came on The Big Reunion and sorted things out (like the Damage guys), and the tweet didn't make him look good too.

They can't release another album, let alone another single at that time because Sony already decided to drop them even before Paul left the band. They were supposed to release Learn To Fly around September 2002 but then, Sony made its decision, so it was never released as a single which could get to number 1. If it became #1, I don't think Paul will leave and Sony would reverse their decision.

If that was the reason why Paul left, then he could've said that to them instead of turning his back on them and not talking to them. Whether Paul went on to The Big Reunion or not, he could've explained himself. But he didn't, and that doesn't look good does it? There wouldn't have been all this agro between them all. It just looks a little to sketchy/dodgy that he did that and then went on to Twitter and made that comment when The Big Reunion was on and not settle anything with them. But that's just my opinion.

+Mia Jones he was talking to them. They were friends on Facebook. Mark even tagged Paul on some of their old photos and Paul commented on some of those photos. In 2012 when Paul opened his Twitter, he and Ben were following each other, Mark welcomed him and they had a little chat.

+Mia Jones I don't think there really was a fall out. Christian even told the Norwegian press in 2003 that Paul had a project in Surrey. It was a recording studio. In 2005, Ben said Paul was touring Germany and Paul as well promoted Ben's single Sorry that same year. In 2006, Mark confirmed Paul was forming a rock/soul band which became Snagsby. There was no fall out. It was blown out of proportion by Big Reunion to make it interesting. In reality, it was bullshit.
