Fantastic. This has always been one of my fave Macca songs, and maybe one of his most underrated, too. Wonderful to hear this stripped down to just him and the piano. It needs nothing more than a few repeated block chords to show what a great piece of music it is - and that's his genius.

Drugs didn't "ruin" his voice. He's almost 70 years old, it's natural he can't sing as well as 30 years ago. It happens to people when they age, you know? Anyway, don't generalize his situation just by watching this video. There are plenty of contemporary presentations showing paul singing much better than in this case. @@supervictormanuel23 50 years later it is still true. Paul really hasn't had Beatle level hits since 1976 with Wings. While 1980s Coming up, Take it away, Dpnt say Goodnight were okay, they didn't have the oomff that Band on the Run, Jet, listen to What the Man Said, Silly Love Songs , Rock Show, had. Almost Beatle-esq, Maybe I'm Amazed, Uncle Albert, My Love !! George Harrison didn't do much of solo efforts except the oh so overplayed My Sweet Lord! Ringo had a slew of no hit wonder albums, and John just did protest after protest songs, and appeasing Yoko with her weird ass scream/screeching sessions. In 1980 John woke up and was like "fuck...Vietnam is over,what do I protest now? " He went back to his roots and early Beatles heyday, he wrote some of his best music post Beatles!!! Gone were the bitchy,and psychedelic imagery, and returned to the style he did so well as Beatlemania was taking off. Paul was entertaining post breakup and almost 80, he still has a crowd of those from the 60s when the Beatles existed, through the 70s / Wings era, and every generation since!! Few artists achieve this level of fame and recognition while they are still alive!!!

I'm filling the cracks that ran through the door Я забиваю трещины в двери, что And kept my mind from wandering Удерживали мои мысли от блужданий туда, Where it will go Куда им вздумается. And it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong I'm right И в самом деле неважно, если я ошибаюсь; я прав, Where I belong I'm right Там, где я нахожусь, я прав Where I belong. Там, где я нахожусь. See the people standing there who disagree and never win Посмотри на этих людей, которые не согласны и никогда не выигрывают, And wonder why they don't get in my door И поинтересуйся, почему они никогда не заходят в мою дверь - I'm painting my room in the colourful way Я раскрашиваю свою комнату в самые разные цвета. And when my mind is wandering И когда мои мысли будут бродить, There I will go Я буду бродить вместе с ними, And it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong I'm right И в самом деле неважно, если я ошибаюсь; я прав, Where I belong I'm right Там, где я нахожусь, я прав Where I belong. Там, где я нахожусь. Silly people run around they worry me Глупые люди бегают вокруг, они беспокоят меня, And never ask me why they don't get past my door Но никогда не спрашивают, почему они не заходят в мою дверь I'm taking the time for a number of things Я трачу время на кучу вещей, That weren't important yesterday Которые еще вчера не были важны, And I still go Но я все равно иду. Why does the camera show everything else but the man and the piano? Is it so supportive for the music to know that there was somebody sitting at huge mixer (with nothing to do, because, what was recorded were just two microphones)? And I don't like that Mr McCartney sings the song one octave down. I don't agree with these enthusiastic comments here on KZbin: Paul McCartney truly is one of millions of other musicians. Right here in your neighbourhood there are plenty of great talents. Maybe the one who plays organ in your local church. It is the fruit of mass media to pump up a handful of people to giants. And afterwards we believe that these people were some sort of original. Everybody (for example you) is an original. I love the song: great combination of chords. Here's how Paul and John were writing their songs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2qakJykodR1o7s I believe, everyone who writes songs has a similar experience.

@4FabBEATLES Paul wrote this song but it's credited to Lennon McCartney like all their songs. That doesn't necessarily mean that Lennon or any other Beatle didn't contribute, you'd be surprised. In this case you're probably right...Paul had such a vision on some of his songs to the point where he would go back and record other tracks over...George Harrison's guitar for instance. 4F, if this is truly your first listening, I suggest you visit 'Sgt. Peppers' and listen to the original.
@ceviche66614 жыл бұрын
@4FabBEATLES Paul wrote it, but it is credited to Lennon/McCartney. Larryh77 is right about the origin. On a side note just cause we know who the song originated from doesn't mean it wasn't a Beatles collab. Lennon and McCartney had an incredible relationship where they not only competed but pushed and motivated each other, as well as helped finish each others incomplete songs.
