I love how this song ends. By function of the last chord, something about it in our brain leaves you wanting more, but you can't have any; it's over just like the relationship spoken about in the song. Just plain brilliant.

I'm 64. Saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan early '64. I became a musician, like millions of other Americans, because of that night.My love of music has allowed me to travel and meet and play with folks all over the USA. And I never forget my first love: The Beatles. I learned to play bass by mimicking Paul's bass lines. Never had a lesson, can't read music but played on several albums here and there and jammed with great musicians. Thanks, Paul! I did finally get to see Paul live in Charlotte a few years back.

He was correct, because he was talking about his friend, not this fraud William whom John couldn't stand. Elsewise why would John begin "How do you sleep" with the Sgt Pepper album. Fab song. He's in C major. On the original Capital LP we got in the US, the song came out in B major. I'm a musician, so I've been playing it in B major all these years. I guess Paul did it back in the day for the LP in C major, and the producers/engineers at EMI slowed down the tape of the recording of Paul doing the song (" the mix") that they sent to Capital and we in the USA got it in B major. Just a little trivia from a Beatlemaniac. Beautiful song, no way around it. Amazing.
@theclarkebloke7 жыл бұрын
Great observation, but i can happily inform you that the UK release of Revolver also has this song in B. Every chance he recorded it in C and George Martin varispeeded it down, as this was bang on the era The Beatles started utilising such techniques in the studio.

A hearty 'hello' to a true Brit, 'theclarkebloke' and a big thnx to you for this. Honored here in the USA to converse with a Brit about British music, especially of the Beatles of Liverpool. Sir James Paul McCartney is one heck of a songwriter, singer, and player of bass, lead electric, acoustic, drums and, I'm told, about 25 other instruments. RIP Brian, both Georges and John.

I think the "older" ladies who cried to/in this concert who is in the same age as Paul saw them perform live in their teenage years and in this concert they remembered the feeling the first time they saw them and how they grew up in their music. The way they used to fangirl to the Beatles in their times. It's amazing. It's like "I remembered screaming how much I adore them while they perform" The Beatles is classic.
