I was sitting over to the left, top balcony bopping along to this gem and trying to sing in harmony with paul and band .A treasured memory ❤

1:31 I remember Paul used to play this song at his piano in concerts. Sometimes he played it on his bass guitar like he does here. He really gets into this one. I think it's one of his favorite songs to play live on stage. It's one of those songs that really makes you move your body and it carries an uplifting message about his favorite topic - the wonderful power of love.
@adventuressurvivalinthailand6 жыл бұрын
nycinstyle he played this on piano with a much faster pace back in the 70s. For some reason when he got older he played it as per the original recording.

I was very lucky to catch the tail-end of this tour, before he dropped it again... Here's hoping it will come back as rotation song: he did bring back 'Junior's Farm', 'Letting Go' and 'Hi Hi Hi' in the past year after dropping it.

It's true! 2011-2012... then it came back last year for the Australian tour, I think. I will upload a video I made for that song in Australia, but gotta wade through that backlog... Yes, 'Silly Love Songs', he gotta now he added a horns section to his band.

Hoping these fab Wings songs come back along with the live horn section. I'd been hoping for live horns forever and sadly was only able to see one show of that tour.

As a singer gets older, it's not a bad idea to drop a tune down a couple of tones. Maybe E instead of G. If you're reading this, Paul, that'll be €300.

Just like Phil Collins (not THAT bad though) it hurts to hear Paul's vocals, and it even got worse from there. And STILL he didn't stop suffering through songs like "Maybe I'm amazed" which he just can NOT sing anymore, for decades, in fact.
@strangedaysindeed93 жыл бұрын
And yet he's still with us, performing 2,5 hours for us, maybe treasure him a bit more before it's too late.
@gutgolf743 жыл бұрын
@@strangedaysindeed9 I'm probably the biggest Paul-fan in the world and I DO treasure his legacy - the more it hurts to hear him butcher these legendary songs! I do think it is impressive of him to still do three hour shows, he just shouldn't do songs he absolutely can not sing anymore.
@strangedaysindeed93 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. Time to drop some keys and leave out some tracks. The alternative of silence is even more sad though.

Well I am going to show in June of '22 in Syracuse N.Y. and paying over $500 per ticket and am going to sit through every second of his concert with a grin from ear to ear and tears streaming down my face. I know he won't sound as good as he did in the '70's and I don't care. I love this man and think he is the musical genius of all time. 🙃
@gutgolf742 жыл бұрын
@@danielvolk237 LOL, 500$, are you kidding?? I love Paul, too, surely one of his biggest fans and most adamant supporters, when some crazy Lennon-folks call him all kinds of names. But I wouldn't pay that to see ANYBODY. Also, I would LOVE it if he'd be just a LITTLE more inventive with his setlist - he's playing the same 25 songs for over 20 years now, always just changing three or four tunes, and that with HIS catalogue! Just another reason to FINALLY give up "singing" "Maybe I'm amazed"!!!!! That said, a clip that I heard from this tour seems to show that at least in parts his voice seems to have recovered a bit - although that was the first concert of the tour, well possible it will break down as it continues. However, enjoy your concert, you better like if for 500 bucks! 😀
