This songs reminds me of when I was employed as a private chef for a very rich and eccentric inventor that lived on a luxury yacht docked in Lake Erie in the summer of 1991. This song came on the radio one day and the inventor asked me "Who is the man in the song? Listen to what WHO is saying what?" I quickly replied "It's you. He's singing about you. YOU are the man in the song." He thought about it for a while and then let out a loud and hearty laugh. He eventually went to prison for fraud and I think he lost his fortune at some point.

I agree with you when it comes to him singing ballads. It was unfortunate that this was the last decade that his voice still held up. By the early 1990s, it started to go. For singing rock tunes, the very late 1960s into the 1970s was him in his absolute prime.

Paul, Linda and the saxophone are live, but the rest is prerecorded including some additional backing vocals and acoustic guitar that arent even present on the set. Check out 3:23, you can clearly see Paul is not playing the notes you hear from the bass. Still, McCartney rocks and this is one of those cases where the tv station wont let artists go fully live.
