I have just finished hearing Sir Paul McCartney sing this famous Beatles song. I will give him FAAAAAR MORE credit for singing the song at just shy of his 80th birthday than when he and the band first sang it back in the early 1960's. He did NOT miss a beat. He is still strong. He IS a true music legend who is timeless. No doubt, he just gets better like a fine wine aged over time. He is FABULOUS. 3 cheers. Hip hip hooray!

They went from this to the rooftop in 6.5 years, or so. It is one of the blessings of my life to have been alive when they were doing their thing. Everything seemed...better. Kurt Vonnegut said, when asked if art was meant to make people feel happy to be alive, at least for a while, if anyone had ever done that. Kurt replied: "The Beatles did." And so they did. One of the great stories of the 20th century that doesn't include war.

I feel like that about the 90s now, I was not lucky enough to be around in the 60s for the Beatles but we had Oasis in the 90s in England who were just like how big the Beatles were in America in the 60s (not that they weren’t massive in England as well!), I think back now about how truly amazing it was to be young in the 90s in England with Oasis and all their music, such a special time, didn’t realise back then how good it was and that I’d be spending the rest of my life looking back on it, I was truly blessed 🙌🎶🇬🇧🎸💟

They have. I'm sure they did. But unless you had the privilege of hearing them around 1965-67, preferably with a small transistor radio, you'll never be able to feel what we felt then. It was more than music, the music was important, but it was only part of the magic. It's very hard to explain that to someone who wasn't there (or, for example, doesn't know who Kurt Vonnegut was without looking up the name on Google or something).

But the rest of us who are 62 or under, too young to fully comprehend the phenomenon that was the Beatles as it was happening, can listen to their music and watch their movies to approximate that happiness. Listening to them, watching video clips of them, and watching their films make me feel joyous, yes, happy to be alive too.

I was there with my wife. I love ❤️ You Paul. I don’t know if you can read this but you’re my hero. Your music has brought peace to my soul. When I’m in my room with my guitars playing your songs it’s the only time I get total peace. I don’t know if you remember but on Mother’s Day at the Oakland Arena when you were leaving in your bus I was the guy outside when you drove by holding my guitar up in the air. You looked at me right in my eyes. I knew you couldn’t stop for safety reasons. I had to try. I’m 64 years old and your music makes me feel so young. Please be safe and I don’t know if I’ll ever have a chance to see you again But I’m sending all my love and prayers for you. God I wish I could sing a song with you. Lol. Take Care. Steve Scontriano

To think he has been with his current band for almost twice as long as he was with the Beatles. I was born in 1965, one of my first childhood memories was of the Beatles breaking up & not understanding it. What a treat it would have been to be 10 years older & witness the Beatles bang out hit after hit from 1963-1970. Did anyone understand at that time that this would be a once only phenomenon, the legacy of which would last most likely hundreds if not thousands of years for as long as mankind prevails!
