Pure McCartney. Pure gold. Pure and simple. A good selection of tunes from one of my favorite albums, Flaming Pie, but I'm somewhat surprised "Somedays" didn't make the cut. That track is top notch.

You see recently a friend of mine died and i was so depressed about it I saw my razor and thought very horrible thoughts.. but when I listen to your music I feel so uplifted and full of joy and happiness and I cry when I listen to Hey Jude because of what I experienced but Im slowly getting out of being depressed I go to therapy I listen to the Beatles and I listen to Pure McCartney and I love it

Cool! Two of my reel decks are 4-channel quad, and I too have a couple cassette decks (along with my Walkman) and a turntable-still play that vinyl! Also have a couple good 8-track decks which I'd never part with! That classic technology was great, wasn't it!

It sure was but 8 tracks were awful with too much hiss and if a tape broke say bye bye to it & if you go back to the late 60's there was a mini 8 track tape called the Play Tape but it didn't fly and was gone a year or 2 later. I had a portable reel to reel decades ago and had an 8 track player as recently as 20 years ago but the LP/45rpm & cassette were the forerunners of playback excellence from the 70's up to the CD in the 90's and the 2 still get the job done today & pretty damn good at that.

I remember the playtape system from my kid days! As I recall, they didn't hold that much. The 8-track deck I had was a high-end Dolby deck and made incredible tapes when I used top-quality blanks. But,yes, I too had a few tangle on me, but I figured out how to repair them. Before that, there were 4-track tapes that didn't take off. As far as LPs/45s go-I have a mountain of 'em-literally! I've run 'em into the PC, cleaned 'em up and made some great CDs!

All the Best and Wings greatest dont even cover a small portion of what is included on Pure McCartney. Those are greatest hits compilations, Pure McCartney is a career spanning journey through the highlights of his entire career and not just the hits. This is by far the best set for newcomers to get when getting into Paul McCartneys solo career.
