People dont seem to get the point of Scaled and Icy, it was meant to be less lyrically, but it's the hints in between the lyrics that set the narrative. Tyler is just good like that

I think Tyler and Paul are a dream team... at least whatever they had going on with Trench was a masterpiece. I hope we get another Trench-like era because SAI wasn't really doing it for me... I mean aesthetically it was nice, but the music not so much.. 😔

Paul Meany is a phenomenal musician, vocalist, writer and producer and as soon as I heard this song I spotted his signature. At first I thought that someone who is a Mutemath fan "borrowed" a little bit for this song. This video finally revealed who is behind this production and I am very pleased!

WOW! Love this breakdown of the production process on Chlorine, Paul! Had no idea. My fav song on Trench and that’s largely due to the Outro which still makes me cry. 🥹The honesty of Tyler talking directly to us (I believe) after the 1 year hiatus that followed the huge commercial success of Stressed Out catapulted TØP into the limelight. One of my fav all-time TØP lyrics: “I’ve been tested like the end of a weathered flag that’s by the sea” followed by the deep “can you build my house…” Just brilliant. Great production job, guys. I love it even more, knowing all that went into it 👏

Ahhh... Now it makes sense why I missed the Trench era until much later.. 2018....That's the year I tried to go home but my flights all got cancelled. Actually one flight made it off the ground but the pilot turned the plane around and went back. I was taking a nap on that plane and woke up still in the same city. Imagine that....This song has always been close to my heart. Thanks man.

I’m could listen ALL DAY, to the making of a T O P album. And watching Paul producing , reminds me of working with my editor making my first film last year ( we’re almost done with post ). It’s a similar vibe, but different , music to film, but you’ve got soundtrack, dialogue, and my favorite, building soundscapes . I grew up a huge Brian Eno fan, and love to see the behind the scenes of post in music and movies. Especially TOP’s music.

Trench is my favorite album of all time. I'm old and music is my life. Musically, lyrically, sonically, tone and vibe. Nothing compares to it to me. I have all the vinyl variants, signed CD's (would be cool to have your signature next to Tyler and Josh), the cassette...I'm legit with my love for Trench.
