You're wrong. Six degrees goes to show how casting is done via agency and how careers, though not guaranteed, are made and established. Agencies, producers and casting directors like to keep their pool relatively small. It's soft nepotism. It really has nothing about talent and merit, as if there are such things in tv/film acting. Hard nepotism is blood related. You think Daisy Edgar-Jones would have a career if it weren't for her father being a major tv producer in Britain?

He's an Irish actor born in 1996, though he's not really a child actor, which is why he doesn't have (yet) an extended career. That might be the reason for which you don't know him. He's well known for playing the part of Connell in 'Normal People' (BBC series) with Daisy Edgar-Jones (that you can see on this video). More recently, he's been nominated for an Oscar but lost it to Brendan Fraser. Mescal will play the male lead character in 'Gladiator 2', expected in the theaters for the next year. (Sorry for my English, French here :)
