In the 80/90's we worked on Paul's as well as Elizabeth's cars, as well as numerous other celebrities and can say Paul is one of the kindest, most well grounded, down to earth people I've ever been blessed to meet. I was involved in an auto accident in 1991 and Paul had learned I was injured and hospitalized. He was working on "The Cutting Edge" at the time and I'm sure was ridiculously busy, yet this compassionate, so very, very, good man took time out of his schedule to send me a large bouquet of flowers. I was asleep and sedated and woke up to this amazing floral arrangement along with a card. I'm am absolutely certain he's also touched others just as deeply in a such a sincere and personal way. It is just who the man is. The world is a better place with Paul Glaser in it. Thank you for this upload, and Paul, if you read this - know your kindness during that personally challenging time meant more to this guy than you'll ever know.

I truly enjoyed this video so much. Growing up in the rural south, television had some issues at times. At least we had a good antenna, that was manual. Most of my favorite programs or movies were action packed, not what my parents thought was quite appropriate for a young lady. When Starsky & Hutch came on though, I was truly in my element. I found just last week that I could watch the pilot episode, and I watched as if it was brand new to me. Now, tonight I watched you talking to Paul, and it was so nice to see him again, but so being himself. I wish we still had more of those type films that I so adored back then. Prayers for all of David's family and friends. He will so be missed by so many adoring fans. May David's Soul rest in peace. God bless your heart from mine. Deme in Bama.😊

What Paul Michael Glaser said about ‘fear’ was very impactful to me. I listened over and over to that because I have and had a lot of trauma in my life and at 62 I am still struggling with the fallout and it’s exhausting. Putting it into that perspective really resonated with me and I hope I can give it some more consideration and use his analogy in my daily life. I am not 100% fear. We would all do better to give this some thought. I was a huge Starsky & Hutch fan and what I loved about their on screen relationship was their deep friendship that encapsulated both warmth and love between two men which came over as very genuine. So for me that was the over-riding emotion I felt and looked forward to every week. It was lovely hearing Paul after all these years! I was sad to hear about David Soul’s recent passing. 🥰🙏🏻

RIP David Soul - had been following the news last few yrs and knew the health battles were taking a toll. This interview is special - I don't know if Paul might ever be so candid like this again - I was awe struck by Paul's understanding of psychology: he obviously had to work on himself to cope with the instant stardom and then heal during the tragedy of Elizabeth (and daughter?) with the AIDS thing. Crazy. Paul's really become quite wise - I appreciate how different personalities they were from each other. God Bless David Soul, but I'm sorry some of the activism seemed so out of left field at times to me but I appreciate when a celebrity lends their voice to a cause, their fame helps bring a spotlight to an important issue that otherwise does not come up on the radar. Paul channeled his energies thru more creative expansions: directing and his art, etc. It felt like David still carried a lot of "anger" due to the health setbacks and mis-steps... I'm not saying that's wrong. You watch S&H and you'd never think these guys had such classical training in theatre/plays etc that was their foundation and laid crucial groundwork. Most importantly, these fellows - along with the unsung heroes like Antonio Vargas and all the crew etc Dutch Derbyll's special effects everything: they were hard working dedicated professionals who believed in truly giving their best. I re-watched the pilot movie the other night - that scene in Hutch's car when they do the checklist - instant chemistry these two cops are true partners like wow they really really sold this camaraderie - those latter episodes when they sometimes quarreled and turned on each other were so cheap, hammy and far fetched. Seeing David Soul in Magnum Force really awed me how this young guy who'd been a baseball player and folk singer had quickly developed impressive acting chops as if he'd been an actor as tenured as say Olivier or something. These guys really worked at their craft and worked and worked and worked. It's funny because in "Friends" none of the six characters have a on-screen intermingling chemistry the likes of which were evoked on S&H. A generational thing in part, perhaps. Credit to the casting team/production team who recognized casting these two could actually deliver on the promise.

Thank you so much Lisa, that means a lot to me 😀Also thank you for subscribing! I truly love what I do and I am a fan as well. It is truly special how a TV show can get us through some tough moments in life and maybe that is one of the reasons why the classic shows hold up.

In the 70's in NJ i lived on the 2nd floor and our neighbor was an undercover cop and had a Grand Torino, he had dark brown curly hair and I saw him running after a guy that was running from an accident in our neighborhood and i looked out the window and I screamed mom look tge David Soul and Starsky my neighbor smile and his partner was a blond, he said we are the ❤real cops. It was nice.

Excellent interview. John Cato is brilliant. He asked all the questions that I’ve been dying to hear the answers to for decade’s! I’m an actor and Paul’s experiences truly resonated with me. His knowledge of the craft is priceless. Well rounded artist is an understatement. My fondest memory of the character ‘Starsky’ was his ability to look as if he were light as a feather. My favorite show of all time and my inspiration to embark on an acting career. Thank you, Paul (& David) for setting such an incredible example.

A really good interview. I was totally in love with him as a kid watching Starsky and Hutch. Wow, he is in really good shape for a man of 80. Especially after all he has been through in his life. He really has come up on the other side, so to speak. Keep up the good work, Paul! I thought it was really interesting the way he said that at the beginning, he and David didn't really connect that much off camera, but as they came to know each other and work together over the years, there came to be a real care and love. That's a very beautiful story.

I think Paul said in an interview he auctioned the famous leather jacket for the aids charity he was involved with . The cardigan - he didn’t know what happened to it . Was only worn once . I’d love to know the significance of the necklace Starsky wore ???? David’s health seems to be failing( I’m in the UK) but Paul has said he’s in regular contact with him . The programme was fantastic and ahead of its time . The onscreen chemistry made the show . Nothing has been as good .
