@@ariec6325 I agree with and on the same pane with everything besides modern feminism. I remember in undergrad I took an elective (unrelated to my degree requirements) basically ab black feminism and the media, intersectionality, culture, and we talked A LOT about this. My friend took the class after I graduated UG and the TWERKIT song n vid just came out and it was a big point of discussion how it was all female cast and Production crew and not so much a traditional male gaze and women chosen by other women for the vid. She said they addressed things that maybe were problematic but they looked at the video for like hoochie mamma and stuff and how the “video girl” and objectification of women esp black women in hip hop culture. And when I took it we talked a lot out about lemonade the Beyoncé album and the sort of paradox of it all but also her self determination to still stay with him and complexities of celebrity status but the role they play on broader society nonetheless I think the music industry is seriously changing too.. Idk if u listen to ashniko. When I was younger all the “girl power” music or music about being hurt by men and loving yourself was about some bitch stealing your man and getting in the way or how you wanted some girl out of the way or hated her or whatever but like she’s always collabing with other females and talking about how she loves herself and doesn’t need a man and she and her bitches come first and maybe if you’re worth it and treat other women right she might wanna f.. but also nahhh cuz she working and ain’t got no time for d.. lol. Not to like plug this random rapper but she did a song with h miku and there’s this line that I just fucking love, “I’m not a princess, I am a boss, like you” after kind of going call me crazy idc, I’m cute and I don’t need u anyways. I see a lot of females taking this route or maybe a less loud and raunchy take but still evolving into “actually my fellow women are more important than some cheating fuck boy”. And even pick me culture.. like ppl who use the term right and don’t overly shame and blame... it formed because the newer gens of women and teens find women who put others down for some petty guy to be a problem to society or maybe girls who don’t see their worth and need to get right. Maybe it’s my field, but in both academia, and even pop culture as a 27 yo I feel we’ve made leaps and bounds. I totally see most every point and agree tho and I do get where you’re coming from. But I think there’s ppl out there doing feminism who feel like you and are preaching the same songs so don’t lose hope and realize objectifying us is getting old and a lot of girls are calling men out and working together to go against the toxic ones and instead supporting those who are not so toxic and validate us.

Join the #RightToDie movement. This movement is about legalizing euthanasia for everyone who is 18+ years old, regardless if they are seriously ill or not. Everyone should be able to decide when they want to die & should not have to be terminally ill in order to receive Euthanasia. It is #OurLifeOurChoice. We do NOT need to have a terminal illness that affects the health of our body in a devastating way in order to be granted freedom through euthanasia. Euthanasia is legal in 49 states for "all animals", & I use quotation marks because it is NOT for ALL, it is not legal for the human animal species, humans are animals as well, they are mammals. We were forced into the world, the righteous thing that can be given to us is a peaceful way out. Our lives DO NOT belong to anyone else but OURSELVES. We are given the option of abortion because it is INSIDE of OUR body therefore it is our body our choice, the same should be applied with OUR OWN lives. We decide when we want to end OUR lives. #OurLifeOurChoice #LegalizeEuthanasia #RightToDie

Here's the thing about sexualisation: consent and context is key. WAP is _supposed_ to he sexual, and it's intended to be sexualised. That does not mean that Cardi and Megan should be seen as _only_ sexual. Their performance is sexual, and sexuality is part of them, but it is not all they are. It is not okay to sexualise them when they do not want to be sexualised. I feel like this is a concept that many fundies just cannot grasp. They seem to think that being sexual in _any_ context other than with your husband means that you deserve to be sexualised all the time, regardless of context, when that's just not how it works.

And just because something is not my area of interest doesn't mean I should judge and criticjze those who would react to something in a different way than me. Certain things provoke different reactions In different people. And some things really don't hold as much meaning as people try to present, like a dog's picture or a song in this case (a song which Most likely is just a troll specifically created to provoke a negative or shocked reaction from people). I personally dislike the song, so if it comes on somewhere or when it came on at the Grammy's I just didn't watch it. But I didn't go around saying that everyone who did watch it are stupid or bad or lost or whatever. @@elizabethkraszewski6603 but that would have more to do with parenting than anything. As an 8 year old, my parents would discuss these things with me (cause "filthy" songs came out back then too) and explain that it's not something to model or copy.they basically just told me not to model after anyone I see on screen in general. Not "filthy" and not "godly" either. As simple as that. And then when I grew older I would rethink things and shape my feelings about certain ways people dress or act or perform on stage. If you let your kid listen to or watch something or just don't have enough control to shape their impressions about something (by talking to them and explaining to them) then the problem is the parenting. Edit: if I had a daughter this age they wouldn't watch or listen to this stuff, I'm sorry but I still think you shouldn't place all the responsibility on those who create rather than those who listen or allow to listen. I came home once singing the lyrics to "sexy bitch" by David Guetta and both teachers and my parents explained to me why I shouldn't be singing it at my age so at a more mature age I listened again and formed my opinions. Keep in mind please that I'm not completely disagreeing with you. I fully agree that it's a song for adults and kids shouldn't listen to it. But I won't hate the song just because nowadays, unfortunately, it's super easy for kids to listen to and watch things like this. I wish there were more restrictions on these kinds of things but I won't hate on the artist or song for not having enough control over my kid. Also, the whole self worth thing, it's much more dependant on what parents teach. There was filth when I was younger too, does that mean I placed my self worth on copying those who were acting sexual in their music videos? No. Why? Because my parents explained that it's just a music video and not necessarily a representation of how I should I act in reality. Im sorry that I keep going back to the whole parenting thing but that's just cause I really want to stress my point

@@elizabethkraszewski6603 there might be people like that but I had a password on my computer for a very very long time so 😂 and I get what you're saying. But then press for more restrictions instead of a prohibition of songs or performances like this. Which is what I'm for as well then. This song was not created for kids whatsoever. It's for adults. The fact that kids can Access it so easily is the fault of bad parenting as well as of technology (as you said, I really agree with that). But then ask for restrictions on songs like this and content like this in general. I mean there's KZbin kids for god's sake. And then if it does come to the child watching it because of a friend or something then, once again, it goes back to discussing and explaining And I'm not in favor of this song cause I personally dislike it,I'm just in favor of ignoring it if you don't like it. And then the whole thing about it affecting kids, well I think I already explained myself
@dv30833 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethkraszewski6603 no in that case it wasn't cause as you said it can happen from the outside. But if they wouldn't explain and discuss it with me then THAT would be their fault. So if I would get a certain impression then it would be the fault of their lack of discussion or explanation rather than the fault of the content itself. And if they didn't find out about it till after it already made an impression then they would've discussed it with me later on. It all comes down to communication cause differences in behaviour are very noticeable if a child has seen something of a sexual nature online. And if a parent lets that slip past them (their change in behaviour I mean) then that's a slip up on their part. Most impressions, even if they're not reviewed as soon as they happen, can be reviewed and shaped later on as well.

Heres a little story for you. All my life my mother was a hardcore Christian she was not sexual, wasnt correct about homosexuality, races, all that just like Morgan. She left my stepdad and began dressing the way she wanted, exploring her sexuality, and looks all that. And shes still a believer. And i promise you that woman is glowing now she is so much happier now that she is HER. HERSELF AND she still prays every night and loves God. I think one day Morgan will to come to the same realization as my mom. And i hope its soon. My mom was so sad then and i cry thinking about how far shes come. How much more accepting and loving towards the world AND HERSELF she is.

Last week I had someone new at work behave very inappropriately towards me, he even put his hands on me. I was worried that I would get the toxic reaction that blamed me for the incident but it turned out the exact opposite. I’ve had it happen at another job I had where a coworker touched my hair and whistled at me (we always wore hats but I was cleaning shelves so I took mine off to keep the brim clean) and that situation was also handled very well. I want anyone reading this to know that if ANYONE crosses your boundaries or gives you unwanted attention it’s ok to speak out. No one deserves to be treated in a way that makes them feel unsafe. ❤️
