It makes such a difference when it is the writer of the song who's singing the song. Alison and Keith done an absolutely beautiful job, but it means so so much more when it's the person who wrote it because there is that one thing there that only the writer can have, sing it in all it's glory right from the heart and soul full of meaning beyond what you can imagine. It's just simply magical when it's the writer singing it

I had always thought this song was written by Keith Whitley and now I know it was Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz who composed it. Great song and made popular by Keith Whitley.

While I enjoy Paul's own version (He is a brilliant songwriter), and Alison Krauss's powerful cover, the ghost of Keith Whitley also sings in the back of my mind when I hear this song.

@63clubs, I don't think he is drunk, I just think he may have been a little overwhelmed. That is a song that he wrote and Keith Whitley made famous. Paul and Keith Whitley were friends and Keith is no longer with us.

This sons is absolutely beautiful, but that doofus in the front that keeps clapping on his own, loudly and obnoxiously really annoyed me. Took away from the mood when he was making noise.

Michael Teague there’s several songs uploaded from whatever this was. In one of them he says he’s been drinking. Idk if he’s drunk or not.

Does that really matter? He still wrote the song and a lot of other great songs. He is human and we're not always perfect and 100%. I wish more people were as real and didnt hide behind some crafted illusion that tries to convince the world they are someone or something that they are not.
