It's a shame this new generation never got to witness this version of Paul Pierce, in his prime. Getting to the basket at will. Being able to shoot it from anywhere under any circumstance. This was against a championship-level defense in Detroit. I couldn't imagine what he would do in today's era

Paul Pierce was mores of a problem for the Pistons than Kobe or T-Mac ever were. Him and Lebron were the two players we couldn't stop!

This might have been my favorite win of the Paul Pierce solo era (after the first Walker trade to Dallas, before Ray and KG). This and finally beating the Spurs in 2007 are the two that stand out. Not only were the Pistons the defending champs and an ultra-scary team, they did NOT go quietly in this game, the Celtics had them on the ropes twice and they pushed back and forced 2 overtimes. Forgot how much more effective of a slasher Pierce was back then. So much stronger and quicker. Even in 2008 he was relying heavily on intelligence and the outside shot.

CrackedSucks really more than the crazy comeback against the nets ? 3 years before this. or the time he dropped 46 on the nets. great game. but there are A LOT of buzzer beaters he hit solo. watch the game against the wizards. where he hits the buzzer beats fade away three. early pierce

agreed. the other games over Spurs was late 06-07 season. Remembered Pierce made two jumps over Bruce Bowen in the last minute. But i never got to watch the full game only saw the highlights in sports news in China.

Im glad this content is out for all the Truth fans who know Paul Pierce was a problem and his best years got wasted away on bad teams. The Pierce-Wade conversation is a crazy as the casuals would have you think. If he had just KG from 2002 to 2007. Celtics makes multiple final runs.

2004-2005 Celtics was one good team but too much talent. Ricky Davis, young guns at Al Jefferson, Tony Allen, and Kendrick Perkins. Veterans like Gary Payton.

Damn, celtics commentators from what I can see, used to a lot more energetic back then

They are getting pretty old, and Mike Gorman still travels with the team. 30+ years of doing it. Tommy Heinsohn is the deeper voice, he was part of the Bill Russel era dynasty, and coached the Celtics during the 70's championships.
