I watched this back in 2007 when we all had 'the Paul Potts moment'! Truly inspirational! I come back to this audition every now and then and am always moved and inspired by Pauls talent & humilty. This audition and that of Susan Boyle are my favourite auditions ever ❤

This was the best winner because it was a new show and there was no fakery you see today. He surprised everyone in his first audition and went on to deservedly win. As a bonus he also got to perform to our late Queen Elizabeth ll. The show has slowly gone downhill unfortunately. BGT with people not from Britain? Well done Paul and so happy you have such a successful career now 👍👍👌

So this dumpy little guy in an ill-fitting suit, a sad half-smile and bad teeth walks out on the stage and knocks the socks off of everyone. I remember this so well. The next day I went to the internet cafe where one of the owners was an opera fan and showed her the KZbin performance of Paul's performance, and she was crying by the end. Paul Potts was the perfect choice for the first winner of BGT. And now his net worth is $10M.
