I agree with you 100% on this one. I love the guitar work in this one, and you said it perfectly. It's not complex but it's tasteful. I appreciate taste more than complexity. I think that's actually more difficult to pull off. I've certainly enjoyed watching you go down this road. Thank you for that. Well done Paul.

Thanks once more for all these reactions. This song means more to me than the final great tune on an amazing concept album. It’s a triumphant moment for three young people who found a way to follow their creative stars without interference. That’s incredibly rare for artists of any age, much less teenage females playing guitar-based rock. That’s not to say they didn’t have help; obviously professionally recording music requires a great deal of personnel behind the scenes; their main producer Jake Carmona is a very fine musician in his own right, and has been a very important part of their creative team almost from the start. Finally, their chosen musical path obviously costs money, which is where their devoted fan base stepped up big time. That support allowed The Warning to play what they wanted, when they wanted and how they wanted. That support remains to this day, and I’m proud to say I’m a very small part of it.

This album started in 2017 with three song with a singular character that Paulina created. With the aid of her sisters, they intensely collaborated the rest of the album in about six months. They all were experimenting with new playing styles during this process.

Hi Paul, although I have watched most of your reaction videos (and I really enjoy your take on songs :).. this is my first comment on your channel. I am a big big Warning fan from the UK, I think this album is already a masterpiece, I have listened to it since it’s release, but I have been playing it constantly in my car for a couple of weeks now, I work nights, so maybe the darker hours give the album an extra edge based on its concept. I liked it from the outset,but I have found that the more you listen the stronger all the tracks become. I have overplayed lots of albums over the years, and some start to lose their edge or appeal after a while, but not QOTMS. That in my opinion makes this album very special. The Warning are so talented in everything they do. 🤘😀❤️

Great reaction, I agree to most things you say, and I can assure you this ; we have NO idea how the next album will sound like ! The band have said that it will sound "very different", so what does that tell you ?! Only that we most certainly will be surprised ! And I'm sure it will be a pleasant surprise too, these fantastic young ladies never disappoints anyone ! They have released two GREAT albums so far, and when they said QOTMS would be darker and heavier, I thought I knew what to expect. I turned out I was completely wrong ! I'm sure we can't imagine how the next album will sound like either. They will start working on it by the end of this year, so by next spring we will be able to listen and be amazed to new material ! We can't wait, can we ?!

I too had a feeling you would like The End, even before watching your reaction. It's definitely one of the highlights of the QOTMS album. Before you move off The Warning, I'd be curious of your reaction to their new single Narcisista (their first song record in Spanish). Another song w/ Pau taking lead vocals and Dany has a nice tasty solo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWiscnieg5mFg68 Then you can check out me jamming "Hunter" with the band in their basement (several other Patrons were also invited and I was one of a few that was invited up to jam). NO, I'm not asking for a reaction to this video! Haha. Just thought you'd get a kick out of it. As I was playing her bass, Ale reluctantly sang lead on the song and she did great: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqiXo2mlZtx2jq8 In addition to being incredibly talented, Dany, Pau and Ale are also incredibly nice and gracious, as are their family and management team. \m/

I loved that you picked up that Zombie parallel. Talk about great song to great song. Way cool. Still early in performance of this song it wasn't Pau's best outing (not that anyone can tell. She's fantastic). Still she carried it very well. I loved her theatrics at the beginning. Pau has such a great understanding of complete performance. Of maybe a little interest, by now you should be aware that all three sisters are classically trained pianists as well. Out of the three Ale might be the best skilled on the piano (please keep in mind how small the margins of difference are). Then Dany on guitar for this song. To me it's her most powerful guitar work in a song. It's perfect for this song and that solo.... that solo is so clean and crisp ending with perfection. I do agree with you when you said in a few more years she'll be milking that solo for three minutes. Dany isn't a fret gymnast. Her solos appear to be more melody based string dancing. I imagine the future Dany laying out guitar solos in the style of Steve Gilmore. He has that masterful slow hand so full of emotion. Emotional presentation seems to fit Dany, but really only time will tell. Finally, I love your reactions of The Warning. I have to check out some more of your videos. I don't see them as being any less enjoyable. Someone has already mentioned The Warning's newest song Narcissista. Their first song written and performed in their native tongue just might be The Warning's greatest song to date (really hard to say because they have so many outstanding songs). The title cut is, also, one of my favorites. Really happy to see you pick up on that song.
@danw19555 жыл бұрын
OG-K - I didn't pick up on the 'Zombies' reference until Paul mentioned it, but I *DID* get a definite Aerosmith vibe from the line just after that, when they harmonized on that 'Whoa, whoa, whoa, etc.' Definite 'Dream On' material.😁😉👍

Paul. First and foremost a big thanks for reacting to this album song by song. We are several that have enjoyed the ride with you and sometimes we have agreed with you, sometimes not but it is your reaction. We all have each our own take of the album. This song The End is powerful and my only issue with it is that it is way too short, as you say the guitar solo could be much longer as you are in the end of the journey and here they have us all in a sort of reflection of what we just heard and witnessed. I will drop you some suggestions in the comment section what you can continue to listen to. There are many indie bands out there chasing attention to continue their musical journey.

The Queen lies dying in The End and these are her last thoughts. She regrets nothing because she still feels that she did it all for love. Interestingly, Paulina sings both the first and this last song, making a cycle where Dust To Dust includes the line “In the end everything just turns back into dust to dust”. The final lines of The End are “start again” and Dust To Dust says “and we shall start again”. They actually didn’t plan it that way from the beginning but liked the way it worked out. Next up: Narcisista kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWiscnieg5mFg68

Great review and good to see you are so fond of this one...if you like the "tasteful" and controlled guitar licks and melodies of this one, what do you think was missing on QOTMS, or lacking, that had you kind of indifferent? As an adroit guitarist yourself, I'm interested in your thoughts on that one as it seemed like you didn't have much to say. Plus, I think the solo is totally kickass in that song, and hence why it's one of my faves. That and the innovative yet heavy guitar riffs. Was surprised you didn't have more to say on that one. :-) Again, thanks for the "ride" on this QOTMS rock novel journey! It's been fun!! PS -- and you really should do Narcisista...the pro shot version on their own channel from Foro Didi.

Yes, as much of a fan I am of this band, I totally agree with you, and others, that they need to up their guitar solos. Yes, yes, yes, I know they have a little agreement that one band member is not to outshine the others, yada, yada, yada...Nah, many of us want, in the words of Jack Black, FACE MELTING GUITAR SOLOS!! Most fans of The Warning, are fans because they are depending on them to "save Rock." And most fans are also classic Rock and classic Metal fans. Yes, Classic Rock and Classic Metal are guitar genres, and we need long, improvised, guitar solos! Pau has gotten TONS of adoration for her drumming chops, stick breaking, and ability to belt out lyrics while drumming...so, that's quite outshining, isn't it? It's time for Dany to EVOLVE, and shine on that AX!

This song has a classic ‘80s power ballad feel, but is cleaner and tighter than a lot of the originals. The solo could be Neal Schon from Journey (and I mean that in a positive way).

If you enjoy the "guitar solos", you must react to Narcissist, has a beautiful "solo" by Dany. You will REALLY enjoy it! To my personal taste, a "solo" should last a maximum of 1 minute or the meaning of the song is lost, BUT I repeat, it is my personal taste. This narcissist "only" lasts 25 seconds BUT it really is worth the "investment" you make in it. Enjoy it !!! BY CERTAIN, I am the one who suggested special attention to Pau in "Sinister Smiles", are you remember? I almost forget it. You can find another great solo by Dany in XXl Century Blood, from his first LP. Probably the longest so far. IF you react to its official video, it is a bit longer and the video WILL SURPRISE you!

nope... one thing Dany will never do is milk solos.... she did that stuff when she was a kid and they did hard rock covers all the time... she only writes very carefully crafted lead lines. the technical challenges she faces are in singing lead while playing various guitar parts that aren't just standard rhythm parts. In my band I milk my solos for all they're worth... I have far too fragile an ego to do what Dany does LoL. But I admire her self restraint enthusiastically.... she ONLY plays and sings what is for the song. The only criticism I ever had is that in live shows like this her vocal control was all over the place because she put emotion over and above accuracy... but I mean, tuning? really needed some focus imho. But now, 3 years later, Dany has become one of the top hard rock lead vocalists in the industry.... check the stuff they are doing on their Error album and touring it super accurately as well... They progressed a ton. Musically speaking I prefer this older material of theirs to their newer stuff, but as singers they have progressed like crazy.
