I think that’s why goodsir’s character was so natural for him. He still has the same kindly expressions and softness in real life as he does in his performance. Overall the casting director picked some of the best actors I’ve seen in a show, I can’t think of anyone who gave a weak performance. Even the recurring secondary characters had their time to shine and so they did.

He was soooo sweet as Goodsir. I particularly liked how he contrasted with Hickey. Where Goodsir just oozed kindness and humanity, Hickey lacked those qualities even though he was more practical. Such a great show with great characters, but Goodsir was my favorite.

Truly the bestsir. His and Jopson’s deaths stung the most imo. Two people who genuinely were good men and helpful to those around them having to take his own life or dying thinking his greatest friend abandoned him respectively. Goodsir would rather of killed himself than to ever be forced to commit evil, such a remarkable man being treated and divided up like a roasted Turkey in the end.

The only character in the show who I think you could get along with, everyone else (apart from maybe Crozier) was in it for themselves and had no altruism. He also had to do all the other jobs, translating, photography, butchering.

Weird...aside from the pallor the character of Goodsir almost seems to be this actor , it's freaky lol [I'm just kidding... Duh! Still really strange that he thought Goodsir isolated though hehe... As someone who's more of a Crozier than a Jopson I thought that Goodsir was kind of very sociable and dissembling.]
