Just watched the whole series. The guy who plays Hickey was demonic while at the same time being quite pleasant to people in that old Victorian mannered way. Really good actor pulling it off, his was an important part and he was totally believable in having men follow him just by the force of his personality

SUCH an incredible cast, and bravo the casting direction, particularly for Mr Goodsir, you can see from the actor’s interview you could not possibly cast a better man for that role in the script, but they were all superb in these roles, not a weak link in the chain. I wish there was some way to assemble them again on another project with the same creators because I just want more of them and the superb level of storytelling / great execution of great material.

Certainly not. Perhaps you haven't seen the programme. He is a specialist (Ice Officer - I'd never heard of that) and the type of NCO that the officers rely upon to tell them what's feasible and what's not! In other words common sense and the salt of the earth.

I thought anything with Ridley Scott's name on would be worth seeing but what an understatement! Compelling, nail-biting and introducing a fascinating part of our history to a wider audience. As they say, some tough people manning these ships - it must have been a treat to play. After 90% of what the BBC put out being dross, this is worth the Licence Fee alone! More please.

I love it - just good is not enough! It is one of the first series that brings a cinematic experience to TV shows, brings a real British feeling and the actors are outstanding. But I admit that giving civil interviews are not their strongest suit.

For me the first 4-5 episodes lack life and rhythm. Was forced to watch them on 1.30 speed on VLC player. Cast is tremendous though.

It was great to see Ciaran Hinds and Tobias Menzies aka Julius Caesar and Brutus from the greatest series ever on TV, HBOs ROME, on the Terror. Plus the great actor Jared Harris. Then you have Ridley Scott producing and Dan Simmons great novel. I certainly enjoyed it. Well done.

I have watched and re-watched this series and still can't get enough of the good story, great acting, realism and of course, the consummate horror element so prevalent in true story mysteries. What vexes me no end, though, is the interviewer's insistent illogical remarks about the gender of the cast! It is a sickness in entertainment that needs to be eradicated. A good story and good film has no need for tick box lunacy.
