I watched the doctors and medical staff pour scorn on the people who protested the lockdown, but come out and clap for the BLM and ANTIFA protesting for a man killed 6,000 miles away . I can't tell you what the precise percentage is, but you can be assured that one of the main reasons why so few are now turning up at A&E departments and doctors surgeries is that with this lockdown they no longer need a chitty to have time off of work. An issue likely to be most noticeable in places such as Liverpool. There are other reasons of course, but this does draw into question how much we really need the NHS, especially as it is currently run, as a service free at the point of delivery. With almost all operations and treatments cancelled for 3 months, one could be forgiven for at least wondering how many of them were really essential in the first place. Surely the NHS could have designated certain hospitals not to treat or admit COVID-19 cases, so that at least some testing and operations could be carried out? The people are not supposed to save the NHS, the NHS is supposed to save the people, is it not? Either the NHS was doing a crap job before, it is doing a crap job at the moment, or most of what it does has very little to do with saving or prolonging lives at all. IMO all 3 are the case, to a much higher degree than we would wish to imagine, and at an ever increasing cost. For the last 3 months in particular the NHS has NEVER cost so much and achieved so little since it started, and by a considerable margin. I would estimate that the cost of every saved life is currently running at £30-40 million per person saved, and possibly a lot more.

Sadly the NHS no longer represents what is good about this country. It has for a number of years had an overriding political agenda, as we have seen with child sex changes etc and has lost sight of its original admirable purpose. During this 'crisis' the NHS staff have merely been doing the job they are paid to do but no one is allowed to think this; instead, in many people's eyes the outfit has achieved cult status. The spectacle of adults standing at their front doors looking up at the sky clapping and even loudly cheering yhe NHS was, to me, one of the most frightening aspects of the coronavirus hoax. It is alarming how people have been so cowed by the media dwith its relentless fear and panic-inducing agenda. Individuals who know nothing about medical matters talk animatedly about mutation periods, vaccines and other nonsense. Mentioning the possibility, in their opinion, of a 'second wave', their eyes light up. There is something very wrong with these people. It is interesting that in the US the virus has been virtually killed off by the rioting. Can we learn something from that phenomenon over here?

Stanley Park is a great park, go there with my kids sometimes on a Sunday. Would you have advocated no lockdown at all Paul? What is clear is that the coronovirus is a fairly nasty virus, it is highly contagious and the death rate in the UK has been much higher than usual (whether or not the official coronovirus deaths were all from coronovirus). If there was no lockdown would the death rates have been much higher and the health service overwhelmed? Hard to say. Has it all been worth the economic problems that will happen? Maybe not.
