Hi Eve, It looks like many of us got this set and some of you have gone live reviewing this set. I also bought it through Amazon. I want to compared it with my tube set. It is a beautiful set! Maria

I guess we all got the same memo from Paul Rubens :) It's interesting to get all of that info out there at the same time, and in time for the sale, so people can really peruse a lot of different opinions before making a decision! :)

Hi Eve, I love you channel, I've been watching you for many years. I've noticed that lately you stopped showing process footages of the swatching and painting, and you skip right to the end when everything is already swatched and the test paintings are already done. I wanted to ask what the reason was, if you dont mind. (I love watching paint process videos.) Thank you and have a nice day.

Ahhh i love the demo art! Seems like a good set but perhaps one too many brown colours for me hehe
@EveBolt4 ай бұрын
Thank you! :) I could see myself switching out one or two of the browns... or I gotta paint a lot of tree bark! That's honestly something I could see myself do XD

Your are the second person this week to review the floral set.

Yeah, but the first person (Lindsay) didnt really like them much and I agree with her. These dont look very nice on paper.

I don't entirely trust Paul Rubens as far as duplicate colors. They keep adding sets and I get roped in because of the tins. I have so many duplicate colors. But love the brand.

Synthetic squirrel hair? What does that even mean? If its synthetic, its not squirrle hair, lol. So its just regular synthetic brushes. So whats the point?
@FaerieDust4 ай бұрын
"Synthetic squirrel" means it's synthetic made to (attempt to) imitate squirrel. There are different synthetic fibers that behave differently.
@Oozaru854 ай бұрын
@@FaerieDust Synthetic isnt real hair. And the point of animal hair brushes is the amount of water they hold. Which is a feature all animal hair brushes share. No matter if its squirrel or sabel or whatnot. So again: whats the point of calling it synthetic squirrel hair? Its not squirrel hair and there is nothing special about squirrel hair brushes compared to sabel hair or other animal hair that holds lots of water. And synthetic will never be as good anyway. This is just marketing and nothing more.

@@Oozaru85 Of course it's not the same as real hair, the same way synthetic leather isn't at all interchangeable for real leather. But there are differences between different types of synthetic bristles, the same way there are differences between nylon and polyester and fake leather fabrics in clothes. They're all plastic, they're almost never a better option than a natural fiber, but you can't argue that a polyester imitation silk is identical to fake leather. Same with synthetic paint brushes. Some are really stiff and meant to imitate hog bristles, some are very soft and fluffy to imitate squirrel. It's an easy way to show what it is (synthetic) and what it's meant to approximate the function of (squirrel, so you know it's meant to be very soft and not snap back into shape the way a firmer brush, like a sable, will). And, yeah, some of it is just marketing, too, when they'll call any soft brush "synthetic squirrel" just because that sounds better. (And of course there have been instances of actual fur brushes being sold as synthetics, because illegally produced fur is sometimes cheaper than synthetic fibers (I came across an article about a study on that topic some years ago, but can't find it again - but there's been plenty of instances of real, illegal fur sold as faux fur in fast fashion, too))

@FaerieDust You said it better than I could. "Synthetic Squirrel" is just nomenclature to help classify the brush.
