Toto is such a beautiful dog! Love your sketches, they are very engaging. The library rat expression is very similar to the German "Leseratte". Your little illustration is adorable. That set looks very pretty, but the colours do look a bit dull compared to Schmincke’s watercolours. I've bought a larger set of Paul Rubens a couple of years ago, but I haven’t use them at all. I'm happy for you that you like them, though. :) Thank you for another charming review, and say hello to your gattino and your pretty dog from me.

Hercule thank you so much!! Yes Totó is an adorable dog, I actually have 2 golden retrievers. I love walking them and having them around. Leseratte is also a very nice expression! I understand a little German since my grandparents were Austrian. Thanks a lot for your kindness Hercule! I am obviously self taught as I studied Business at the University and drawing is just a beloved hobby… Of course Schminke is much more beautiful than Paul Rubens! However, this small set has kept me good company in the kitchen while preparing dinner. I have a few Schminke tubes and I really treasure them. Thanks a lot for your presence on my channel! Have a very lovely Sunday. I hope you will get time to paint. Tschüss, Elisabetta

When they first came out I bought 5 sets of which 1 was student. Now the price has gone up and I would not pay their prices. They seem to be a good paint and enjoy them. I would not use them on a commission or anything I would sell though. You must try the Red Ochre with any other color and more water. It granulates beautifully and the colors separate from each other. Very unique color. Tfs

Thank you so much!! I have plenty of Paul Rubens sets as well bought when they were more affordable. However, they cost less on Ali Express than on Amazon, and are still very affordable during sales! Is the red ochre the one I have? Pozzuoli red ochre? It’s a lovely colour.

Hiya Elisabetta, Toto is gorgeous. The Sic is used as part of English standard grammar along with many more Latin derivatives, et. alli, for instance. The box Is lovely and at first I thought that it was style over substance, but I wasn't accounting for the lower price, and it would be easy to fashion a mixing area in the lid. Are the pans removable or all one piece? I really find manufacturers who don't give their pigment numbers freely to be a little untrustworthy and the customer shouldn't have to go on the internet searching for them as you did. Payne's Grey:.Winsor and Newton make one with a nice noticeable blue undertone, and Sennelier make a small and full pan with their version that has a cool green cast of PG7, and it will actually serve as a green if used diluted! Raw Umber: I know that you're not the biggest fan but try it with some Alizarin Crimson, It makes a gorgeous copper colour that's great for Autumnal scenes. Prussian Blue PB27: I don't know if your aware of the strange property of this pigment and any others that mainly contain it such as W+N Antwerp Blue. Although lightfast, it has the weird property of fading over a long time period, but it you then take it off the wall and put it in a dark place like a cupboard overnight, the following day it will be restored to its former full pigmented glory! It's quite bizarre but I know this to be true. The name of Library Mouse is lovely and much preferable to our English bookworm!. Your painting of it is gorgeous and I love the reference to yourself in the painting. I really like the Sketchbook work and I was really interested in the Onion, as food painting is so accessible to most, so never short of a subject. It's a gorgeous warm day here in my county of Lancashire and I've got all the windows open for the fresh air. We've had a few weeks of really nice weather. A friend of mine who came to live here from Italy was from Milan, he was called Armando and very sadly died three years ago. As always Elisabetta, take care and stay safe, love to all, Ciao, David X

Hello David, thank you so much for the great message! Actually, I have 2 Golden Retrievers and I really love them! I love the Sennelier brand and I occasionally buy a tube in a small charming independent store here in Turin. However, I have never tried their Payne’s Grey! It’s a temptation now. I knew that PB27 is a bit controversial but I wasn’t aware of this property, it’s really peculiar. Thank you for your kind comments about my sketches, your words make me very glad. I’m self taught and I know my limits but art is a journey… Do you know that I have lived and worked 6 months in a small town called Melton Mowbray not too far from Lincolnshire? It’s a small world…the weather is wonderful here too! Although I am looking forward to Autumn, so that I can mix Umber with Alizarin Crimson to paint foliage. It’s always a joy to talk about pigments and watercolour paint!! Thanks a lot David for taking the time to providing all this great info. Have a very lovely week! Elisabetta

@@WatercolorElisabetta Thank you very much Elisabetta. I love Melton Mowbray pork pies, and I never knew that but I had wondered if you had lived in England at some point because your English is excellent. The art journey never ends and I'm always amazed at how some people progess. I hope that you have a lovely week, Ciao, David. X

Man, Paul Ruben’s packaging and presentation is always so unique and beautiful! But my thoughts are maybe a tiny bit bigger palette and a few less colors so they don’t contaminate so easily.
@WatercolorElisabetta

Contamination is indeed a big issue with this palette! also because it's so creamy and a breeze to rewet....but it comes in handy and I love reaching out for it while I cook, it takes up so little space....Thanks a lot Lori for commenting. I love comments, they make the channel lively and more interesting! I wish you a very lovely week. Elisabetta XX

Great review of this adorable palette. It looks almost brass on the finish, so unique! Sad to hear that it doesn't have its own mixing space, it would be more versatile if it had one built in instead of the paper. It does hold a lot of colors for such a compact size! :)

Sic is also used in English. The news media use it for unusual quotes from people or from their sources.
