Hi Paul, I’m glad you like these gloves, I’ve had my pair for a couple of years and have hardly taken them off, love them to bits. I think they were originally designed as a retro-styled, powder-hound, Spring snowboarding glove, hence the ‘handcuffs’ (to prevent dropping them from chairlifts, into deep snow, off mountain drops, etc. - losing a glove in extreme cold can have dire consequences!) Personally I found them not warm enough for altitude ski use in the Alps (where I purchased them), neither burly enough against rocks nor sufficiently waterproof, but I have loved them for après-ski at lower altitudes, dog walking, snow shovelling, etc. And I have adored them for UK winter use, dog walking, shopping, general purpose. Like you I appreciate the design, the lack of tech, the simplicity, the snugness, the sheer quality which oozes out. A big thumbs up from me too! 🙏🔥👍❄️

It's good to hear that you love your Wakayama's too, I'd be wearing mine now if it wasn't so hard to type in them! Thanks for watching. Paul.

On your recommendation in the Q and A video I bought a pair last week. Super nice but a shame the weather's been getting nicer, haven't worn them outside yet!

How would you do the cleaning on the inside wool? I always try to wear a liner glove inside when I go skiing but it just seems like a shame that I can't properly enjoy the nice wool lining inside.

We sell a specific wool wash: www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/washing-water-repellency-care/nikwax-wool-wash-300ml__2480 This can be used through the washing machine or applied by hand; the latter with either a very soft brush (think make up brush) or damp cloth. Through the machine will depend on the care label.

Hi Paul, thanks for the video. I would have a quick question about the sizing. I can see from your video that you have a size 8. Would you say the Wakayama gloves size large or tight? According to the Hestra sizing guide, I am a size 8.5 (217mm hand circumference). As the Wakayama only come in full sizes, I wonder to go to 8 or 9. Have a nice day!

Hi Paul. Another great video! How do you care for leather gloves? Can we wash them? Or do we use a specialized product?
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mario, I have simply washed mine under the cold tap, whilst wearing them, much like you'd wash your hands. When dry, I applied the special Hestra Leather Balm (they come with a small tube) to keep the leather soft and supple. - www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/product-care/hestra-leather-balm__35930 Thanks for watching. Paul.

Nice video Paul. I'm trying to decide between this pair of gloves and the Hestra Fall Line. Have you ever tried that particular model to compare?
@trekitt3 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid the Fall Line isn't a model we stock, so we won't have used it. Sorry. Harry

I was tempted until I saw the price....£99 for a pair of gloves!

Considering that these gloves will probably last about 10 years, that's only 0.027p per day (if you wore them every day that is). Buy once and buy well! Thanks for watching. Paul.
@THCgecko253 жыл бұрын
@@trekitt they will probably last you way more than 10 years, according to use. Even Hestra Falt Guide glove which is determined for really hard work and use will last you more over 10 years without a doubt (you will have to replace insert over time, but that´s another story)... I don´t think that 100 € is much for something like that. True craftsmanship and really impressive materials is something that is not very common nowadays (I have Hestra Utsjo, that gloves are like a dream, they are fashionable and very durable at the same time.. Elk leather, wool and primaloft combination is simply gorgeous). The best thing is, if your gloves break, you can send them to hestra for repair ;)
