Thankyou for yet another helpful video. Its only 12 months since I started painting at age 79 years old. It took me all these years to work up the courage helped by your advice. I finally took the plunge to help one of my grandaughters who was suffering from a very long and severe (over 6 months) case of long Covid. She had become so depressed. But with your videos we started painting together and it made a big difference to her outlook. So thanks once again.👍

I loved your answer about your favorite part of teaching painting. I am a retired 3rd grade teacher & my favorite part of teaching was also that squeal of delight & joy when they realized that they actually got the concept I was teaching them. What a joy it was to hear their little voices rise & to see those sweet smiles. I miss it.

Hi Paul! Thank you for your lovely channel. I have a suggestion for your next Q&A. Perhaps a segment on techniques for how to fix mistakes. For example, is there a right/wrong way to lift paint (when trying to fix a mistake as opposed to creating a highlight) and then painting over top?

Dankjewel! Prachtig!

A very helpful video and I’ll have a go at the fish. I have watched all the Q & A tutorials but I don’t think I’ve seen any or many tips on trouble shooting, trying to put right areas when things go wrong. I follow the tutorials, hanging on your every word as I try to copy instruction. I always think I’ll make it my own but sometimes that’s difficult to do, must be my lack of natural creativity. So when my paint won’t do what I expect it to, I want to correct it but don’t know how.

Hi Paul thank you for this. Loved your early works and the information and tips. Now I'm going to throw a question in. How would you go about painting a beautiful muted rainbow?I tried. I thought a rainbow. How hard can it be? Simple I thought. Until I tried it and failed miserably. Ugh. I was trying to do this rainbow bridge thing. My beloved fur baby Sadie', my dog had to be put to sleep two months ago and I'm devastated. We had a great bond together and I miss her so much. I was trying to do a painting of her looking over " the rainbow bridge" as she was passing it. In memory of her. But I didn't get anywhere near painting her doing that because I was trying to get this rainbow right and I wont repeat the string of expletive words I used. I think you can have a very good guess. Would you please Paul if you have time, show the best way how to do it. It's NOWHERE NEAR as simple as I thought at all. The colours blended into each other and the whole sky was a disaster. Maybe I should have done one colour and let it dry before I tried the next one. Maybe the watercolour pad wasn't great either. Maybe a lot of things. It was a practice run. It was just as well! What colours would you use for a rainbow? By that I'm talking watercolour paints and how would you get that beautiful muted look? And what brushes would you use for it. Hope you can help me Paul. Thanks for the tips and tricks here. I' m.very grateful for all you do. God bless you and Margot. Susan ❤❤❤🙏🕊👍☘🇮🇪🎨🐶🐾🐾

Hi Kelly, sorry to hear that, we lost our 'fur baby' 2 weeks ago and I can relate to how you feel. Regarding a 'Rainbow' in watercolour ... wow, one of the hardest things I can think of. I've had the request before and always avoided it!!! The only way I can suggest is to paint the scene as normal (without rainbow) ... wait till it's totally dry .... then re-wet the area. and then drop in to the wet the rainbow colours.... but have them pre-mixed so you can paint them in at the same time .... good luck!!!!
