Beautiful song and tribute to Willie. Superbly performed here. One of the best. I would like to note Willie did not write it. It was written and recorded by Scott Wiseman in 1939. Scott said his parents had a fancy old cup with the words remember me written on it. They kept it on the dresser and the kids were not allowed to touch it. Scott said when he left home for the first time he felt home sick and wrote this song. It's been recorded by many over the years 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍Lone Wolf :)

I just found this. What a beautiful job they did! Edie has a great voice and Paul, well, what more can be said about the great Paul Simon? I love his singing, but more than that I love that he has so much class onstage. He steps away from the mic and lets his partner have the spotlight. I love that about him.

Wow ! Loved Edie's guitar pickin. She's such a treasure, and Holy Cow..... Paul Simon ! Paul Simon, with and without Art Garfunkel is a musical artist that I couldn't possibly imagine the 60's, 70's, and on...... without. His impact is immense.

Written by Scotty and Lulu Belle Wiseman. Their most famous composition was "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You"."Remember Me was a hit for T.Texas Tyler, and it became is theme song.
@jameshepburn46312 жыл бұрын
@Sonny Dave. Close but not quite. Used to fall asleep Saturday nights listening to the National Barn Dance out of Chicago on clear channel powerful signa! WLS, "The Praire Farm Station". Scotty told the story behind the song many times. He wasn't feeling well and was in his sick bed. Lulu Belle came to say good night and as she was leaving she said to Scotty " Have I told you lately I love you?". Scotty couldn't sleep anyhow and thought those words were a great song hook. Scotty wrote the song that night. Next morning, he was feeling better and sang the completed song to Lulu Belle. If there's radio recordings of the NBD you can probably hear Scotty tell this himself. The song's writer credit is solely Scotty G. Wiseman.

"Remember Me" The sweetest songs belong to lovers in the gloaming The sweetest days are the days that used to be The saddest words I ever heard were words of parting When you said, "Sweetheart, Remember me" You told me once that you were mine alone forever And I was yours till the end of eternity But all those vows are broken now And we will never be the same except in memory Remember me when the candle lights are gleaming Remember me at the close of a long long day It would be so sweet when all alone I'm dreaming Just to know you still remember me A brighter face may take my place when we're apart dear Another love with a heart more bold than free But in the end fair-weather friends may break your heart dear If they do sweetheart remember me Remember me when the candle lights are gleaming Remember me at the close of a long long day It would be so sweet when all alone I'm dreaming Just to know you still remember me Just to know you still remember me
