I agree. I think it’s because he’s so comfortable in his talent. I’m 68 and have loved this wonderful artist all my life. He’s created so many classic songs during his career. He’s certainly nothing to prove to anyone. It’s nice you say he’s like on his couch as that’s how he makes me feel when he performs, he’s so comfortable and assured. He is fantastic!

Paul Simon : 81 ans, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !🍀 A Paul… … Pour tout cela Paul, merci. Bon anniversaire, que Dieu te garde. 💕💞

It's quite interesting how a song can make us remember some periods of our life. When I started listening to Simon & Garfunkel, in 2017, I was moving to another city, to start my studies in college. And this song was one of my best companies in that days, all alone and learning how to live far from my family. Tough times, but The Boxer makes me miss it. And listening it is almost like a time machine. I can feel the same sensation of yesterday.

I randomly found this video and completely forgot how much I always loved his music and his lyrics and the chemistry of putting his sound together. Makes me feel good about myself knowing I appreciate the good things in life and as a bonus he’s obviously loved on an international level. Miss the 70s and 80 and 90s. Change is hard sometimes isn’t it?

@Paul Simon I was born in 1961 so I’d say since 1978 maybe? I literally don’t recall. I’m originally from Anaheim so clearly I heard it on the radio first but I also recall that one of my sisters purchased bridge over troubled water. And because there were so many deeper layers in that LP the hook was in pretty deep and my interest spread out from there. Cheers. Ok maybe the answer is 1972 or 73. Closer to the release date

Don't we all wish we had been part of this great party? Gorgeous, beautiful concert! All of it! The whole band and Paul have the authentic sophistication and a rare sense of generosity that today's egocentric generation cannot claim! How I wish I had been there with my daughter on my shoulders!
@nicolaslegrand94142 жыл бұрын
@Paul Simon .....!!! Well Mr Simon, your music belongs to the kind which goes far and beyond, over barriers and yet, the kind that is so close to the heart. It doesn't claim, yell (And I love a good old rock and jazz noise from times to times), shout, nor does it divide. Nor does it have the marketing stench wrapped in lollipop values. It all starts in the eighties when you secretly pretend dad''s tastes in an old duo is appallling but you inevitably hum the tunes all day long. Then you're struck by live footages of huge crowds mesmerised by the soothing beauty of your duo. Wow! One does not need to make noise to heard or listened to. Candles and smiles, everywhere! You inevitably give in and allow yourself to listen to the majestic sounds of silence, sparrows and from there it's a whole new horizon which opens up. Two captivating minstrels from a bygone time arose. From then, my childhood soundtrack would never turn its back on any musical direction. As I'm sure it is the case for so many others. "You can call me Al", I can recall the morning we all watched the clip in 86 in a hotel room. From there, the musical colours intoduced to a French boy living his teenage years in the 80's in Australia from Graceland and the Rythms of the Saints were to never leave my soundtrack. Your music belongs to the common heritage. I could go on! Thank you so, so much! If ever you're around (!!!) the south of France, there will always be a glass of wine waiting for you! Merci!
