Imagine you're thinking, "Damn. I've got to get to work." And then you remember that you're Paul Simon. Your setlist is two hours of some of the greatest songs ever written. You're fronting the best band that ever walked onto a stage. Thousands of people are waiting to show their deep appreciation of your brilliance. If that doesn't put a spring in your step, I don't know what will.

Paul Simon is a genius. He sounds great. The interesting thing is in an interview he said he felt he was more of a conduit or a vessel to which his songs came through. Some songs he made very very fast. It’s spiritual. I think it’s from God. Anyway, God bless you Paul Simon!

I almost agree... Steve Gadd sadly is not on the drums though, although he played the drums in the original recording...
@jameswhile5444 жыл бұрын
@@th0bse_ The guy drumming is a great pal of mine, Jim Oblon. He's a guitarist by profession, an incredible one, but also a ridiculously talented drummer who refuses on comedic principle, to actually own a drum kit. He has toured with Paul since 2010/11 as his drummer. Check his guitar playing out on here.
@th0bse_4 жыл бұрын
@@jameswhile544 I almost definitely will when I'm in the mood for it:) thx for the background info, and my comment wasn't meant to be disrespectful by any means, it's just that I admire Steve Gadd for his whole style of play, especially on this track :)
@jameswhile5444 жыл бұрын
@@th0bse_ Oh gosh, of course and I agree. I believe I am right in saying Paul engourages multi-instrumentalists these days and Jim was originally Paul's sons' guitar tutor and got a gig via that as a guitarist purely, then subsequently, Gadd pulled out of a tour poorly, leaving Jim holding the sticks. This is well worth listening to- Jim ripping it up- the last minute is blistering playing.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXamZZWipJqpn7M
