@@humanactivated1017 I would say the first mistake they made was around "Dynasty" when they went to a disco sound and then did the solo albums. Then it was to "Music from the Elder" and just got worse. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen, big competing egos, and problems around 1980 and it didn't get better for a few years. You'll find people (mainly guitarists) who are die hard Ace guys no matter what and find anything after "Love Gun" to be of lesser quality. Their 80s work had some great pop-oriented hair metal stuff, but I don't think they found their edge again until "Revenge." "Psycho Circus" gave them a late career boost. I thought "Monster" would get more attention as their last album but no one seemed to notice. So it's more of a "What era of Kiss do you like?" thing than anything. Same with Sabbath or Priest.

I knew it would fun to see them in the makeup, & hear some good classic rock. 100× better than I ever could have imagined.....felt like we got the full experience of KISS in their prime, and some of the best songs were songs I didn't know, that just rocked the house. By the end of the night it was one of the greatest concert experiences I've ever had. Right up there with Judas Priest, AC/DC, Sabbath & the original White Zombie. People call them sellouts....but even as seniors, they gave us every penny of our money's worth.....& then played for another hour. Kudos to them.
