Damn, I just discovered 2 stellar players tonight, this guy and Angel Vivaldi. I am 52 and I remember there was quite a bit of instrumental rock guitar back in the 80's. Then came grunge of the 90's and lead guitar disappeared for a while, It slowly started working it's way back in. But still no instrumental players like Satriani, Vai, Yngwie . Glad it's coming back around. It helps keep the standards for rock guitar high, and that is where they should always be

Being able to come up with something like this, to be able to conceptualize a song, a theme, and then perform all the parts of it (virtually through the use of tools or otherwise, makes no matter) and have it be this creative and inspiring, that just blows my mind. I seriously don't know how you do it Paul. Can we trade brains for say a couple of months (and that badass 7-string... and your entire home studio for that matter)? I want to be able to do this!

WOW, this is more than a single, this is an EXPERIENCE! So much of this BLEEDS epicness like nothing ever before, I'm not quite sure how its possible, but you've improved over assimilate regenerate which still holds as my favorite album of all time. also the imagery in this is leagues better than anything i could've prepared myself for, so much fluid flowing groovy cinematic power in one song it boggles my mind. after hearing this and keeping the few snippets from "digital apocalypse" and "day of the droids" theres little doubt in my mind this will be one of the best albums ever. seriously, all of this is well BEYOND HUMAN! i can't wait for the full album.

After watching 5 times it is still amazing. How long do I know you now - 5 or 6 years? Think I first stumbled across your stuff when you uploaded the attack of the Necromongers vid. And you just keep getting better and better. I hope you will be really successful with this album. Shred Metal is the best thing that happens on this kind of music! Many influences like jazz fusion, blues and classical music. Covers all the subgenres of metal on a new mechanic of composition, this subgenre defines at the real guitarist with skill and personality/style. I hope that in the future someone decide do a documental of Shred Metal with interviews of Jeff Loomis, Stephan Forte, Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Tosin Abasi, Ron Jarzombek, Andy James, Paul Wardingham, Michael Angelo, Tony Macalpine, Kiko Loureiro, Exivious, Angel Vivaldi, Intervals, Sleep Terror, Scale The Summit and many others!

Coming back to this one nearly 10 years later, it really becomes evident to me just how much ahead of the curve your work has always been. So unfathomably ahead that nearly everyone else is YET to catch up, lol If it wasn't for Ghost in the Machine, Convergence and especially this song, I probably wouldn't be a metal fan now - and by extension wouldn't have met some of my closest friends. I remember listening through Assimilate Regenerate and being blown away by at least 10 techniques I have never heard before in metal. Paul clearly makes his own rules. Everyone loves your shredding, and for good reason. But your choruses (for lack of a better term) are what inspire me most. In all my searching I have never found another artist who makes me feel the same way I do for sections like 1:31, or the 'choruses' in your other work (Earth 2.0, Prophecy, and Futureshock are standouts for sure). I still can't believe how underrated you are after all this time. I only hope one day I can write music half as good as this!
