+jake mclachlan go read the 10,000 hour rule. It's a study that shows strong evidence that the major difference between good musicians and great musicians is that great musicians have practiced on average at least 10k hours by the time they are 20 years old. Interesting stuff. And I'm not saying that some people aren't just born with a natural disposition towards a particular instrument/s.

I am 51 and have been playing since I was 13, and I played in clubs, made some good side money. I played around Austin TX in the late 80s early 90's. But then the economy went to shit and my fathers heath declined, so I had to go back to a day job. Of course i don't get to practice as much. But hey, only a few of us get to make it in music-a simple fact. To get this guys level, you have to practice 10 plus hours a day. That is for younger people though. my fingers just don't move that fast anymore. But I am not bitter about it like some people would, I still love music and I still play my guitar

To be without a vocaliat, its that much harder to carry a song with just instrumentation. Ive been a guitarist for 29 years and in a World full of mainstream, record company built bland safe bands and just outright lack of an original idea, this is the counter balance that keeps me coming back for a listen. And buy the dudes music, dont snag it on a download somewhere. He has earned his keep.
@DivinumX10 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I normally do not pay for my music but I can't do the same here in good conscience. You can see and hear the passion Angel puts into his music and it's absolutely incredible. He doesn't play for money. He would still be writing music like this and playing it even if he wasn't a recording artist. The fact that he goes through the trouble to release his music gives me the influence to buy everything he has.

For those of you that suffer from anxiety, you know what it feels like. For those that don't, to put it in simple terms, it's essentially a built up, intense source of energy that makes you feel uncomfortable. The key, I find, is to have a HEALTHY way to expend some of that energy, and it can be listening to music like this, allowing the anxiety to gently and healthily flow away. Angel Vivaldi, you and your boys have created an anxiety medication through your music. And for that I sincerely say, thank you. 😌🤘

Hi, I'm a musician in general and been enjoying lyric writing for a while and decided to write some lyrics for this song and also mapped the song parts with the video. I personally thought they were really good but I'd like to receive opinions including Vivaldi's if he ever reads this. [Bridge] [0:51] And now, I touched this earth... [kinda talking with screams] ...full... of... ice... [screamed] (guess what... [shouted]) ...it’s-in-my-eyes! [screamed until 1:08] [Chorus: screamed] [1:25] I-once-thought... [1:28] I-was-here..! [1:31]...but-I-was right in your dream! [1:36] (by Mars the new land! [shouted]) [1:38] Is-this-sand..!? [1:41] Is-it-real..!? [1:44] I-won’t-escape before you... [1:48] (...unless you want me to! [shouted]) [Interlude, then guitar solo...] [Chorus: screamed] [2:42] Can’t-be-live... [2:45]...what-I-skipped, [2:48] has now be-come my truth (here in the rare land! [shouted]) [2:54] Is-this-sand..!? [2:58] Is-it-red..!? [3:01] all-I-see... is the thrill! [Bridge: Talking pitched or whatever could fit] [3:09] I’ll make sure to make this bed sleep tonight... [3:12] I’ll make the bliss burn every single lie, [3:15] never dry more ice in sight... [3:19] ...and I’ll make sure you rise... [3:22] ...I’ll assure a better next night... [3:25] two moons saying goodbye... [Melodic outro: Mixed talks/shouts however it fits] [3:26] You’ll never forget my sand... [3:30] forever step in white land... [3:33] we will never go back, [3:36] everything was just a lie... [3:40] everything was in their minds... [3:43] found proof buried within, [3:46] buried in the warming freeze, [3:49] now existent warming bliss... [3:52] I only just want a dream... [4x and fading/changing vocal styles]

All these people hating just piss me off. I've been following this guy since I heard him when he played in black market hero. From his first album to now he's progressed a lot in my opinion. It's not all about speed and how amazing your arpeggios are, but how the music feels and sounds. People who actually understand music and can just listen to music and feel the vibe it brings can appreciate the concept as a whole. You don't NEED a vocalist to feel a song or how the person is feeling during the writing process. He is "singing" with the guitar to express the feelings, but I suppose if you're not flying a thousand miles an hour it's not good guitar work. Last I checked there's a bunch of guitarists who don't play fast at all and yet people praise them like gods. I'll just end with be open minded and just appreciate music for what it is, and stop judging it based on speed, technique's, etc. If it sounds good then listen to it, and if not just don't listen to it.
@mjsgambati11 жыл бұрын
you hit the nail on the head man. everyone thinks that faster guitars and more drums equal better music when in reality it is quite the opposite. You can gather the fastest most talented players in the world put them all together to write a song and the song might come out like crap. it's not technique and speed that make a good song its the way a song is written. Even though there is a lot of talent in bands like these they'll most likely never put out a top 100 single. I'm not saying that's there goal here but it will never happen because there's really no catchy song structure. It's not because of the genre. Look at asking alexandria, they are metalcore and still made the charts. Most metalcore will never see the charts, it' too heavy for the mainstream. And they are not nearly as talented as these guys but they know how to put a song together to make it catchy and hooky (if that's even a word). I think the first instrumental Djent band to make the charts will be Intervals. That's my prediction.

Listening and discovering your playing tonight for the first time convinced me that your album is worth buying for sure. Interesting playing guy. I am 52 and I haven't heard any decent rock guitar instrumental in quite a while, it was common throughout the 80's. Then grunge killed lead guitar during the 90's, Lead guitar slowly worked it's way back in over time. By having stellar players like you it keeps the standard for players high-where it should be!
