Paul Washer: God's holiness and man's depravity

Paul Washer preaches from Romans 3 about God's holinesss, that God is unique, separate from us and not like us at all. We are sinners by nature, morally depraved and have a heart that is spiritually dead! Rom 3:11 - There is no man that is righteous, there is no one that seeks God.

I've never been so moved by a sermon before. I had to go into my bathroom and cry. I've never felt like this before. I needed this so bad. This entire sermon shifts everything I've ever known and makes me want to cling to Jesus like a baby to it's mother. Watching this, I felt a fear that shook me to my core. A fear of God's wrath. Well its a year later did it stick or not? Im going to go out an a limb and say it didnt and its NOT because you messed up its because Paul Washer is messed up. He can get you to a place where you realize your need to REALLY repent but he cant take you past it because he doesnt believe you CAN he says so even. Its true you will never get beyond being saved by grace nor ever fully understand it but that due to the infinite nature of God and out finite nature, so reason it out then since you cant get beyond this instead be steadfast in learning more and more and being content in areas where God says NO this is mine or you're not ready for that. I am so glad you chose to get close to God but to do that you have to read the word YOURSELF!

If you are interested in freedom from sin and how do we receive the Holy Spirit? read below. After God gave me the Holy Spirit, I found proof that TV, movies, novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff that don’t have sins like sermons and Christian music words that gives messages. I found out that in them there is lying, stealing, adultery (Matthew 5:28 looking at someone with lust is adultery), fornication which is sex before marriage, revenge, murder, jealousy, pride=self-pity, hypocrisy, using God’s name in vain as a curse word, they are all idols (breaks 2nd Commandment) because most people can’t live without them and they love them more than God and more. Just read the 10 commandments for a list. 1 John 2:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 New King James Version 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Now I will be preaching about how to receive the Holy Spirit and be 100% going to Heaven. First, it’s only by the grace of God that he gives you faith in Jesus Christ in order to give up your sins. It’s only by the grace of God that he leads you to pray to him to destroy all your evil desires of watching TV or any sinful desires. When you pray to God to destroy all your evil desires of watching TV or sinful desires (Romans 6:6-7 and Galatians 5:24), Satan will intervene and extremely tempt you in watching the TV. But if it’s God’s will and if you are one of God’s elects, you will overcome it and God will destroy all your evil desires of watching TV. After God has destroyed all your evil desires of watching TV and if you are one of God’s elects, you receive the joy of the Holy Spirit for about 40 minutes. After the joy wears off, all existence of boredom no longer exists and you no longer burn out (psychology) anymore. That is when you have received the Holy Spirit. Then it’s by the grace of God that he forgives you of your sins, as you confess and repent of your sins throughout your life which is called sanctification. Actually, beware of Washer. He preaches an accursed gospel which I never believed. He's just deceptive in how he explains his doctrine. I believe that once you believe in the Word of God and his resurrection (the gospel) you recieve everlasting life and become a child of God (born again). I believe we're saved apart from any work on our behalf, meaning you don't have to do any thing to get saved, stay saved, or become saved. Washer believes a believer must have the works or his faith isn't good enough. He would say he doesn't have "saving faith". He misinterprets James 2 to preach this damnable heresy and I no longer am decieved by him. If you see this comment then just know I don't believe this is the ultimate sermon any more and you should search the scriptures yourself to see if these things are so. Yes, the word commands us to repent and believe the gospel but He never says "repent of your sins" one time in the King James bible. Do not be decieved.

Here he said men are sinful but believes that we can use the deeds of our sinful flesh to show GOD we can do anything good. In one of his videos he said we got to be holy, pure and be like Jesus. Holy and pure and righteous are the attributes only GOD have. "You got to" means we are able . Able what? to be like GOD? Be like Jesus? who can we save even if we die the same death of Christ? The fall of men is because Eve being tempted by satan that she can be like GOD. Knowing good and evil. First thing they did after they ate the fruit was to judge(themselves)and become shameful of their own nakedness. This man is passing that fruit to his audience in almost all his sermons. Only God can judge Paul. Don't forget you were saved when you were yet sinner. Don't question the salvation of others. That's not your job. You're just other another wearing stinky sinful flesh. Only one part of you is right with GOD, that is the Holy Spirit in you. At least I don't question that. Not that I have no reason to. I can also suspect you're running the race in vain by adding the adding self righteousness to the finished work of Christ. That could be unbelief in God's eyes too. Don't fall into that Paul.

I remember when I was growing up in my early teens Mom used to drag us kids to church every Sunday to listen to the lectures and stories from the Holy rollers who preached to the congregation. I became interested in the various messages drummed into us and especially about the need to love your brother so I decided to put the concept into practice. I was upstairs in my room after the Church service loving my brother, Gee it was fun and he liked it too, maybe we were too loud because the next thing that happened was the bedroom door flew open and Mom stood there with her mouth open and a face as red as a beet. She screamed for us to put our clothes back on and then chased us down the stairs with a broom, Gee that broom handle hurt and you could hear her yelling all over the neighborhood, things were very frosty within the family for about a month, Parents are sometimes very hard for kids to understand, Jesus tells us one thing and parents tell us the opposite ....Oh well - -

Now if I just say that sin is falling short of the standard, it seems like sin is an error, that sin is a mistake, that sin is just something that we happen to do that we don't want to do. But when you look at the full teaching of scripture with regard to sin that's not the case at all... Sin is rebellion, sin is a crime, sin is when man puts his will, his velition against the person of God and against God's law. Sin is not a mistake , sin is obvious rebellion intentional rebellion and all of us have rebelled against God. Now, when we talk about sin we need to understand that sin is more than just an act.. People are not sinners because they sin, people sin because by nature they are sinners, and that's very important to understand. If you see sin as simply an act or a decision then you will treat sin superficially and you will try to find a superficial cure. But sin is not merely a decision it goes all the way into the heart of man . A heart that is fallen , a heart that is that can properly be called morally depraved a heart that is spiritually dead.

I really struggle to understand so God doesn't accept me as I am but He loves me. So what does God love about me then since I'm inherently detestable to Him? I know God is Love but does that mean that it's who God is but because of my sin it doesn't apply to loving me ? I don't even know if I'm a Christian anymore... Please help. This sermon made me feel really weird and got me doubting my faith and the religion as a whole.

God is love. He made man perfect but because of this sin, we are imperfect. When God looks at you he sees Christ because you are washed in his blood and his robe is on you. Your sins are paid for, so what judgment do you deserve? Keep the faith. Continue to be open and seek answers.

This is a great sermon, touching truths about God, and I personally agree with all he said about God and His Holiness and Righteousness but I do not agree what pastor Washer said about Jesus teaching about hell more than other inspired people in the Bible, and about hell been eternally burning alive people , here are the multiple verses that deny this: Malachi 4: 1,3 for behold the day is coming burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, and all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the the day which is coming shall burn them up. “ Says the LORD of hosts”, that will leave them neither root nor branch. You shall trample the wicked for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day that I do this, says the LORD of hosts. Faith Perry, relax. If you've believed on Jesus Christ alone. You are saved. Salvation is about what Jesus did. Not what we do. "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. I listen to Paul a great deal and really like him way more than most I listen to. But on this one he is revealing his confusion on some of his thoughts.. don't have time to explain what I mean here now, just listen to it and pray and many God can show you. I will give clue. We do have the capacity to love God and many sinners do but Loving God want save us. We are suffering from total depravity and even so Jesus talking to the seekers and curious hears sermon on Mount. HE said if you being evil know and have the desire to give good gifts to all who you love, how much more will your heavenly father .... don't have time for more hope this is food for thought if you stop picking these heros and truly,truly study in prayer you will have the hunger you are told Iis need to recieve answers and food needed from his hand to you.. Best to you all who understand what thou readest.

[Brought back to life from being spiritually "dead" -separated from fellowship with God.
