I’ve been struggling with sexual immorality for around 1/10th of the time that I have been committing this sin. I am only 18 years old and accepted Christ nearing 1 & 1/2 years ago. Sexual immorality is as basic and natural to me as Math, in my flesh. But in the Spirit of God, who has given me new life, it is the most unnatural and disgusting thing imaginable among the things I have done. Please pray for me that I may be sanctified according to the word and will of God, and be kept from sexual temptation. For the sake of the brethren, for the the body, the church, and for my wife whom I have yet to meet, and more so above all things, for my Joy, my inheritance, my King, savior and Lord Jesus Christ. 23:50-23:58. "You need to take this seriously..." "And. So. Do. I." In nearly every letter to the new church there is a urging to strive for sexual morality, among many other things. If as followers of Christ we are called to be perfect, why are there so many instructions to flee and war against immorality? Because we are human and we need to be reminded. This is comforting, because it shows that perfection isn't possible this side of the New Creation. Progress is. But it should also, like Mr. Washer is saying, wake us up, giving us a healthy helping of fear. It is our duty to seek righteousness, as followers of Christ. "And so do I." This is someone who is honest, at least in some quantity, about his condition.
@JohnCephas7 ай бұрын
Why do you say it's impossible this side of heaven? With God, nothing is impossible. Are you greater than God, that He can't tame you? Or, do you think that God wants you to sin? Perhaps, some who preach that perfection is impossible, are they that don't want to be tamed by God.

How do you address I Corinthians 6:11 ? In this verse we see sanctification as a finished work at conversion. Sanctified is to confirm that the soul is set apart and made holy, does it not ? At the moment of conversion, a soul is sinless before God, do you agree ? Sanctification of the soul is an instataneous work of Gods grace. At that moment we are His holy child and from that time on we continue to work in spirit to do God's will as the scriptures speak to us. I am a member of the body of Christ, and worship him in his one and only body of believers that he knows are his children, the church of God, a nondenominational church body world wide. We believe in a one work of grace to the saving of the soul. Saved means being kept by God, not practicing sin. Whosoever is born of God sinneth not. Whosoever sins, is of the devil. There is no such thing as a sinning Christian just as there is no such thing as a honest thief. Many preachers tell believers that they will continue to sin. And the end of those believers will be those of Matthew 7:21-23. I listened to moat of your sermon on sanctification until I fell asleep in the wee hours of the night. But it was mostly because at 81 I find it so easy to get relaxed and drift off to sleep, even while trying to concentrate. I agree with most of what you preached on and would need to hear the message again to see what might have been missed.

@@GuessWhoAsks the word property there doesn't necessarily mean possession but responsibility. For example, when you have children they are your property because you're responsible for them. And with God there's nothing wrong with 'owning' someone; because God himself calls us his slaves and he our master, such that as christians when we have children they're also expected to be 'enslaved' to him as godly offspring. It is therefore not immoral to 'own' a person, rather how you treat them will determine whether you're moral or immoral. God doesn't mistreat us as his 'slaves' and he expects for us to extend the same kind of treatment to anyone who is under our authority. There are many people nowadays who are 'owned' by their masters. For example, basketball players etc. So, how you treat them is what will make you moral or immoral.

I have to admit the title of this video is misleading, Ps Washer doesn’t even go into further instruction regarding sexual immorality, that is, he doesn’t clarify on fornication, adultery and lust of the eyes. You say to follow the instructions at the Bible the word, but you're not reading from the King James version. So words are changed. Which means the Bible you are reading from the book you are reading from is not an authorized version of Jesus Christ or of Our Lord. My commandments come directly from the word of God, not from the thoughts of man who has rewritten the scripture. Check the difference. Have a blessed day.

The word of God is the Bible, whether KJV or any other version. KJV is not the original script, it was also translated. Thanks
@traviskellogg8673 жыл бұрын
While not the best translation for all readers, the KJV is a good translation. As is the ESV, NASB, NLT, and several others. I have spoken with several other folks who tend to believe that if you are not reading the KJV, you are reading an inaccurate, perverted bible. The biggest reason being, they say, is that there are words and verses missing from these newer translations that are from the KJV. I have looked into these myself. In regards to the missing words/verses, there are two mains ways to look at this. Either these words are infact removed from the new translations and that they should be there, OR they where ADDED to the KJV. One of the best examples of this is Mat 24 when the disciples asked Jesus what the signs of the coming of the age would be. In the very next chapter (25:13) there are some words that can be found in the KJV that aren't found in other translations. Do their presence or absence change the meaning of scripture, I would argue they don't. It honestly looks like the words where added in the KJV to remind the reader of the question that was asked in the previous chapter that this verse is referring to. There are several other examples of this where it seems the translators where attempting to clarify things in the texts. Another example is Mark 10:23, speaking of the rich young ruler. I will also copy and paste one of the replies I had sent to one of my friends. It has greater detail.
@traviskellogg8673 жыл бұрын
Okay. I read that there have been several different editions of the KJV since it's original release is 1611 with different grammatical updates and some word changes based on changes in english over time to make it more readable. Now, as I was reading over the information you sent I seen the many differences ranging from a word changed, to one or two words dropped, on up to whole verses omitted. I was surprised to see all these many differences and omissions. Then I had a thought. What if all these verse weren't so much omitted from these new translations, as they where added to the KJV? So dived further into research and this is what I found. "As well as relying on previous English translations, the 1611 edition of the KJV relied on critically edited Greek texts that were “for the most part based on about half a dozen very late manuscripts” (none earlier than the 12th century AD).”[9] These Greek texts included five printed editions of the Greek New Testament by Erasmus,[10] as well as Robert Estienne’s (a.k.a. ‘Stephanus’) edition (1550) and Theodore Beza’s edition (1598). Michael Holmes writes more about the Greek texts behind English Bibles here. Unfortunately, one of the manuscripts Estienne and Beza used for their Greek editions contained a few “corrections” that downplayed the importance of women in the church.[11]" margmowczko.com/7-things-about-the-king-james-bible/ Since the 1611 KJV bible was written there have been much earlier texts found that date far closer to the time they where original written. Many of these texts did not have the words or verses that the KJV does have, which if you where to only compare the KJV to newer translations, they would appear to have been omitted. But the reason they have been omitted in many of these newer translations is because the earlier manuscripts did not have them, which leads me to assume that at some point they where added. When or by who, I haven't that knowledge yet. The other thing that I found is that despite differences between the translations, a majority of them are minuscule. They don't change the message of the Gospel a bit. For example: Mark 25:13. The words "Wherein the son of man cometh" are not present in newer translations. In that verse, Jesus is answering a question the disciples askrd him back in chapter 24:3 "As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" I tend to believe that "wherein the son of man cometh" was added to remind the reader what Jesus was talking about when he said we don't know the day or hour. This addition doesn't change the gospel in the least bit, but helps the reader to understand easier. The newer translations of the bible try to be as accurate as possible not to the KJV, but to the most original texts and manuscripts that have been found. Most of the times that verses are not included in the latest translations is because they are not in the the earliest manuscripts. Having said all of that, I believe that the KJV, NKJV, NIV, NIrV, ESV, etc. all convey the same message of the same gospel. The KJV is just as useful for rebuking and teach people in the Lord and many other translations. I do not intend to downplay the validity of the KJV, but I do intend to say that it is not the only accurate translation. Many people today due to the fact that language has changed immensely struggle with reading the KJV, so they need a translation that makes sense to them and speaks to them in a way they understand. For those who prefer the KJV, that is absolutely fine. We serve and worship the same God of the KJV, as pretty much any newer translation.

With all due respect for you as a paster, I believe the Bible is clear enough that we may be out of God's kingdom because of our works. Ephesians 5 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints; ⁴ Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting: but rather giving of thanks. ⁵ For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. ⁷ Be not therefore partakers with them. ⁸ For you were once darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light: ⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) ¹⁰ Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

@JohnCephas Nope, I suffer from old age, not deception. Paul was not chosen by Jesus. And if you look at what came out of Antioch, you will see the Roman catholic church did.
